I was listening to, "The Lion of Judah." and it's riddle-like apology.

Within the lyrics, Prince clearly addresses someone in particular, with several lines and the overall emotion.

-Thinking about the words that I can use to get this through to you.
-A million mistakes and then some, I've made with the ones b4.
But still I adore u.
-I probably should be happy but I'm still not sure if u really love me...
-Lookin' 4 the energy to take u there, the places u wanna go...
Knowing if I do, your'e fully aware, the press will turn it into a show.
-The one that will stand by my side, through the good, and the bad.
Let that one stand with pride.
-Wondering how u will feel when u find out, how much I really care.
-2 gypsy bandits who only by grace came to be a star.
-Like the lion of Judah...we will hear the trumpet sound.

I have been taken by Prince riddles before...and Prince seems to keep us guessing quite often.

All I can gather, is this person is not in the limelight...but Prince doubts her love 4 him...Prince seems afraid to approach her...I ponder the emotions of this girl.

What are your thoughts of this curious song?

I believe that there is a general crowd feeling...because of the word, enemies...although this seems to be centered on a personal level.

Tame, I think the real issue at hand here is that you were listen to the Lion of Judah at all, without skipping the track after 3 seconds.

Very sketchy history I'm going with here, especially as all this happened well before I was born, but didn't he convince the world to help him against the occupying Italians through words?

Is the song about Prince's quest to change the music industry, to use the support of his fans and many others to do so, through his music?

Are the "2 gypsy bandits" possibly the owners of some sort of big record company? When he's looking for the energy, that seems to fit with the idea of him talking to his fans.

Those that have followed him through "the good and the bad" should be proud of the way they haven't caved in to popular opinion.

Actually much the Planet Earth CD is riddled with lyrics that hint of a relationship with someone who is not a celebrity...someone who is not in the limelight. To me these aspects stood right out....it's part of the CD's theme.

For whatever reason she fails to reassure him that she loves him...
