just reading ''dance music sex romance: the first decade'' for the first time and loving it. i'm very impressed with the research put into this book that seems to be lacking in all the other books on prince. what i especially like about it is the details of his writing and recording process that u never get to read about anywhere else...
my question though is about the dirty mind record. when per nilsen is talking about the house prince recorded the controversy album in he speaks of how a piano was brought into the upstairs portion of the house and was mic'ed up and routed to the basement so prince could record piano and how this was a new feature in this particular house that was not available in the house prince recorded dirty mind in... he then goes on to say that there's no piano on the dirty mind album.
but the piano is featured heavily on ''gotta broken heart again.''
i'm just wondering if anyone could shed some light on this... is it just an overlooked piece of information in an otherwise really well researched book or am i on crack?
