Sleep Around was one of the best songs on Emancipation. I call it the hit that wasn't. I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that | |

Sleep Around was going to be a single.
Unfortunately everything fell apart soon after The Holy River and that was that.  had originaly planned
to have at least 4 or 5 singles released from Emancipation. | |

That would have been one serious single on the charts if it was released. One of the best songs on Emancipation. Love the 70's vibe.

Holy River never should have been a single IMO, I'm just not crazy about that song. It probably sent people into shock - this is Prince??? Sleep Around is really appealing, I like it. Prince should have released this song first. If he wanted to show the world just how "emancipated" he was, he should have came out and hit us hard with the first single and it should have been Sleep Around" These are the songs I would have picked as singles for Emancipation and in this order: Sleep Around Style One Kiss at A Time Face Down Somebody's Somebody Maybe Betcha by Golly Wow! In a perfect world, it would have been great but stuff happened in this period and it's unfortunate. But it's all good now and Prince is still making great music I'm not a fan of "old Prince".
