Winner of the most fucktard album Prince every made: New Power Soul (no dramatic drum-roll required) Before burying this turkey for eternity, lets salvage the near-perfect The One, and the other 2 rays of light that are suffering in NPS's ocean of blandness: Come On & Wasted kisses (hell even Until Ure In My Arms Again deserves to be on a less-crap album than this) - and we'll replace those 4 with 4 other putrid NPS-type-levels-of-shite tracks that unfathomably made their ways onto better albums: Wedding Feast, Graffiti Bridge, My Little Pill, Life Of The Party. 4 pieces of shite that deserve to be buried on and with this disaster of blandness... R.I.P. Wipe and Flush There, it is done... next... . [Edited 3/11/08 1:56am] i have 2 agree.

Hmm I always considered "I Love U, But I Don't Trust U Anymore" as one of Prince's best ballads. I just wish that album was as good as it.

I can't believe that people hate Emancipation so much....that is the best of the albums listed. I've never understood the hate for NPS either...it's a pretty decent album..some funky stuff on there.
I probably won't check this thread again, but his worst album is probably Batman...it is just lame and it came right after Lovesexy, which makes it even worse by contrast and juxtaposition, [Edited 3/12/08 8:22am]

All his albums should be listed, not just his poorest selling albums. As a fan I wish him success after every release. But, favorite albums aren't decided by commercial success. List them all.

From the All Music Guide:
New Power Soul Release Date Jun 30, 1998 Label NPG Genre Styles Rock Soul Dance-Pop Funk Urban Pop/Rock Club/Dance Review by Stephen Thomas Erlewine Releasing two multi-disc sets may have been an audacious way to begin his career as an independent artist, but it did nothing to re-establish Prince as a commercial powerhouse. Perhaps that's the reason he released New Power Soul (credited to his backing band, New Power Generation, but it's a Prince album in all but name) a mere four months after his mammoth quadruple-disc Crystal Ball hit the stores — it was time to release a concise, focused pop-funk record that proved he could still deliver. And it does, to a certain extent. New Power Soul is a tight, focused record, filled with energetic funk workouts and classy, seductive ballads. It's paced to entertain, just like one of his legendary concerts, and there's no shortage of well-crafted songs. The problem is, nothing stands out and makes itself known. Certainly, the album sounds great as it's playing, but it cements Prince's evolution from groundbreaker to craftsman. There are pleasures in his craft, to be sure, but in order to hear them, you have to be a committed fan.
