Many people are amused by Kevin Smith & its an entertaining story about a personality that just as many, if not even more people perceive as a weirdo. Kevin Smith has gone on record several times as being a fan of Prince's music in in the past. Otherwise, it's unlikely he'd have accepted the Celebration gig, or wanted TMBGITW (or Jungle Love) used in his movie. If you're too uptight to handle that not everyone thinks everything Prince has ever released is sonic gold, I suggest an enema. [Edited 3/15/08 11:13am] you totally missed our point, our post wasn't even about Kevin Smith or thinking every Prince song is gold, i don't even know how you got that.. the person we responded too fell into a category IMO, of folks who only come here to post negative responses and I will never ever understand why someone would visit a fansite of someone you don't care for anymore. that's all. if that's how people choose to spend their time then. That clip was funny as hell. Not as funny as the Tim Burton story but funny nonetheless. Kevin is hilarious. What was the first comments he made (since this was a reply)?

The transcript of Kevin's comments from the first 'An Evening with Kevin Smith' DVD is on this thread: http://prince.org/msg/7/156607 It's much funnier on DVD though! For the record, Kevin was and still is a big Prince fan. He chose one of Prince's songs for his iTunes celebrity playlist and said 'If you’ve ever seen 'An Evening with Kevin Smith', you know I’ve got some history with His Royal Badness. Regardless, it’s never interfered with my appreciation for the man’s musical genius. I came of age in the Prince era, and his albums have made up a good portion of the soundtrack to my life'. So he's not slamming Price. He's just telling it like it is. The reason it's funny is because it's true.

People who don't know how Kevin tells a story should youtube "Kevin Smith, Tim Burton" and see how he speak or they won't get his brand of humor. That was classic Kevin. "Chaka mad."
