Roses: The Superbowl performance

Poop: Insulting Carson Daily on TRL, and getting his ass served back to him.

Prince, looked at him very rudely and said ," What? What does that mean?"

And Carson explained that the current music scene just didn't live up to the stuff he writes.

Instead of taking the compliment for what it was , Prince then responded with (and using the biggest smug and asshole looking smile on his face) "I don't suppose you have anything to do with that do you?"


Carson then serves his ass back to him explaining that he's like a bartender. He may not like the drinks that he's serving, but they're being ordered by his clients. So he serves them.

Prince only gave back a weak , timid, smirk back, unable to respond appropriately of course. it was truly a cringe worthy moment. I mean, he was releasing "Rave Un2 the Joy Fantastic" after an extreme dry spell on the charts. The least he could do was not look like an asshole.




Now the superbowl performance to me was the complete opposite. Prince PWNED that audience that night.


It was AMAZING. He generate sooooo much excitement in me about what Planet Earth was going to end up sounding like. This of course was diminished by the corset photo and the various leaked tracks. But the Superbowl performance itself had so much energy and gave me such a sense that Prince "was back".

Great performance from a vet.

I didn't like anything about the Rave era...the look, the sound...yuck

I think it's an underrated album. Not pure trash--but not great.
