Around the World in a Day (song)

I love the whistle-synth intro, it's so original. Reminds me of Goldfrapp in Lovely Head, or the Knife in a certain edit of Marble House- only Prince did it decades before them biggrin

I always thought it was David Coleman(Lisa's brother) that did that album, he let David have the recording studio for one night for his birthday (I read).that is why when David passed away he dedicated "Sometimes It Snows In April" to him at a concert one night.

Oops, I meant David Coleman. He got some studio hours of Prince for his birthday or something and he recorded the song.

Prince re-recorded his own version for the album.

-Wikipedia
[Jonathan Melvoin] performed with many punk bands in the '80s such as The Dickies, and also made musical contributions to many of Wendy & Lisa projects, as well as Prince and the Revolution's album Around the World in a Day.

Wow, just having ATWIAD for one day. I envy you; with all the b-sides and extended versions that was one of the most exciting periods to be a Prince fan...

You might wanna take a look at this

http://www.housequake.com...orldinaday

It has MORE detail then wikipedia and more accurate. And this album is VERY old, it wa sout when I was a kid( I owned it myself). it goes on to say The song ATWIAD IS written by David Coleman but said very little about Jonathan he did a few vocals and tamborine that is all it says otehr then that David played a MAJOR role in the making of this album.
