Prince of Paisley Park The show that aired on VH1 was almost a virtual slap in face to Prince because from thier opinions:
All Prince is, is tied to sex, and that he's selfish and boyish. So what! He would be like so many of us who unfortunately don't have ALL the talents necessary to become wealthy or completely self-sufficient. And to downplay his upbringing like it was somehow his own fault he had struggles living at home with his parents, was atrocious and self-centered of the interviewers. Prince has mad musical talent, and his past struggles in life, sometimes paralell to my own ( based on the music i hear) make me enjoy his music all the more. Why is it that life says you're a reject if you don't have all the GOODS to "win friends and influence people" ????? I'm going to kick and push my way too..... :triumph: I do wish he had built PP in CA or TX tho..... anyway, he should have a sleepover for the top 100 on this fan site.....me included, since it's my idea. thank you. Huh? What show were you watching? I've seen that program at least a half dozen times and have never gotten any of that from it. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

isn't that the special where people like eric clapton and george clinton are tripping over each other to say great things about prince? maybe i'm thinking of a different special, but the one i'm thinking of painted a really glowing picture of him.

It's the BBC Omnibus program where Nelson George says Prince is one of the three greatest performers in the world...and Owen Husney, Mavis Staples, Alan Leeds and Sheila all talk about how amazing he is. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Not available to purchase. But they show it on VH-1 Classic on a semi-regular basis. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.
