Does u're significant other enjoy Prince as much as U do?
MySpace URL:

How could U think that I could put something inside of someone that I put inside U? Even if I tried 2.. I couldn’t cuz I still smell like the last time that we ... Loving U is a waste of time

lol No! But he saw him last summer and was blown away by him, he's seen everyone that's anyone, and said P was the best he's seen EVER. He was completely amazed by his guitar playing, and how incredible a performer he was etc. Since then, he likes watching and listening to his stuff now and again - he really likes Peach!!

But, he thinks I'm obsessed with him - I have no idea where he gets that idea from wink And doesn't want to listen or talk about him ALL the time!! wink lol

I am single, However, my first husband was a guitar player and respected Prince. My second husband, I found out a little late, was a match short of a book.

lol good question.....

Mine could've cared less about him when we were first dating. When he saw my collection of music he gave me one of those rolleyes you're one of those girls.... I finally asked why he didn't care for him and found out that all he knew about him was Purple Rain and that was it. Since he's a rock fan I went straight for what I thought would speak to him - "The Cross". It did. I then played him every guitar laced song I could find and it converted him. He had no idea that there was that side to his music. He's attended every show that I've been to since then. He's a fan now, but not as much as I am... wink
pray God bless everyone. NO exceptions. pray

The last guy I dated didn't like him for the usual "close-minded" reasons: "He looks gay, he dresses like a girl..." blahblah But when I asked him if he knew his music, he said "No."
One night I put my Slo-Prince playlist on (77 songs, 6 hours), and while we were just 'hanging out'( wink) it was on. After a while he said, "This is nice. Who is this?" nod

I talked to him recently and he told me that he can 'tolerate' Prince now because of me.

"Love Hurts.
Your lies, they cut me.
Now your words don't mean a thing.
I don't give a damn if you ever loved me..."

my wife knew maybe three Prince songs before we met
as far as i know, she tolerates him
i'll get the occasional, "i like this... who is it?"
one night i played all the spiritual songs, and she liked 'em all

That sounds like my story, except what I thought was really funny is that I heard him saying to his brother on the phone after the show "Y'know he seems like a really good bloke!" lol Next thing, his brother and wife were at the next show with us, and aftershow, and his bro said afterwards "That man was put on earth to do that!"

CONVERTED !!! woot! They, my SO and his brother both love and play guitar but had NO idea of P's talent, they were razz at his 'tones' and how he never plays a bum note etc. etc. - guitar speak!

I think that's really interesting, that so many people just have no idea of what Prince really is musically!

It's your. Or in idiotic Prince speak, it'd be ur.

You're or u're is the abbreviated form of the words you and are.

Grammar lesson over. Hope you learned something.

Yes, mine does like his music but he teases me about my "obsession" as he calls it with him.
He's a dick about it sometimes.

:sad2:The ONLY song my husband likes is WDC . He utterly hates Prince and was with me on opening night at the O2+ aftershow. It was sheer torture to him... hrmph The other 2 shows and aftershows I went alone ( but met really nice P fams thumbs up! and had a blast!)and he was very understanding as plane tix+hotel were far from being cheap.

I've told this before, but when I was engaged a few years back during the Musicology Tour, my EX-fiance told me, when I asked him to go with me: "No, and U shouldn't either. It's a "waste of money" omfg Well, I went twice w/o him (in NJ)!! mad
However, he was playing in Philly ON MY BIRTHDAY, so I TOLD him I was going: "I wasnt to spend my birthday at a Prince concert, and I want to spend my birthday with my fiance, so I guess U're coming."
1) I had to buy both tickets; because of that "will call" process, we ended up in the 2nd row on the side Prince faced! boogie
2) That @$$ stood with his arms folded all night like he was bored. At one point, Prince told the crowd to act like they came to party. I SWEAR to this day he was talking to him!!! disbelief
3) He picked a fight with me on the way home back to NJ because he said that I showed more emotion at the show than I did the night he proposed! stfu

NEVER AGAIN will I take a guy to a Prince concert- if I ever get the chance to go to another one! lol

man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

lol

That's almost exactly how my sweetie is about him!

He said to me not long ago, "Am I going to have to share you with Prince forever?" I said, "Sweetie, when he plays 'Nothing Compares to U,' you're the one I want to dance with."

We saw him in Vegas a year ago. It was an amazing night - we were about two feet away from him for a great aftershow. We both had a blast. And sweetie had as much fun watching me as he did listening to the music - which he loved.

Of course, it didn't hurt that Sheila was there that night...so he got some eye candy, too. lol

I went duing the first and last show when he was in Philly for Musicology. Mine acted like an ass on the last show.
Which one did you go to? I went Sunday (opening night) and Tuesday (when The Time opened for him).
