Which Days Of Wild do you like better? Is the one from Crystal Ball or the new one from Montreal. I would like to know this from yall to see what yall think. In my opinion, I like the crystal ball version because it's too funky. Maybe even to funky to describe. I love it when he says turn the lights down then they start to chant free the slave. Thats the part when the house started rockin like crazy. Speaking of free the slave chant, what are they saying after that. To me it sounds like (free the slave, bury that mutha something day), I can't make it out. So answer me those 2 questions please.

Montreal because I was there and because he spoke to me in the song.

I Like Montreal better also. It's a Great version of the song.

The Montreal version has a little extra crunch musically.
He just shouldn't have fucked with perfection lyrically. If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

actually i like the cut from Glam Slam Miami july 1995...its really great.
But of those 2 i'd say the Cb cut is better just cos the cussing in it helps the vibe of teh song & the emotion of it. ***************************************************************************************

Isn't that the same song? Didn't he use this performance as the basis for the Crystal Ball track and then added overdubs? Am I sitting too close to my microwave when I cook my Hormel Chili? If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

The one on CB is the better one, though that one's not even close to being the best ever. In recent year DOW has become a lame ass jam, cursing or not, the song now lacks attitude and energy.
The one from Montreal is one of the worst versions ever. It's soulless much like the outtake version. Probably the best version of DOW is the one from Stars & Bars (Monaco 1994).

I prefer the Montreal version, but then again I prefer the current band to the '95 line-up.

Montreal. Bass is clearer in this version. "...because no-one gets there alone." - "...I like the floor. It's the only thing that seems real."

I prefer the PLATINUM version - This version could have been even on the Black Album! -----------------------------------------

The version of Days Of Wild he played in march in Vorst Nationaal in Brussels Belgium 1995 is the best i ever heard. Totale other arrangements as the one on CB and Montreal .
Very relaxed version back there . Hallowed is his name ! [This message was edited Sat Oct 26 6:23:41 PDT 2002 by Purpel] Write your REVIEW and SETLIST in the forum : http://princeinbelgium.tk/

I'm fairly sure they say, "Play that mother f**king bass'. That version certainly had a lot more attitude than these days.

What da F*$% kinda question is that?
Sh*@, CB is the mothaf&^#%@# best version! F*&^, dat s&*^ it funky as hell! Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

I wonder why he has never bothered to do it again. A bit more subtle, if I remember correctly. A lot funkier though. IN fact, that show is one that I go back and watch more often then others. THat guitar version of TMBGITW was super. The crowd was so into it.

Glam Slam West! ! ! As already said-
But what about the Days of Wild Guitar Jam from NPGMC last year? Is it possible to play this loud enough, and hows about when halfway thru, its already killing you, then he tewweks the sound and RIPPP! Lately this version is one of teh best guitar outings by Prince EVER. But for full version of DOW see Glam Slam West!

fun, everybody are speaking about which version is the best, but, what about the "free the slave" chant? Nobody was there during that act?
anyway, for me, it sounds like the chant after the free the slave sounds a bit similar to the Parliament Funcadelic song "Shit, god damn, get off your ass and jam"... That make any sense? Or am I totally lost? and, yes, I´ve been thinking a hell of what they might be saying... and no, there´s too many versions of days of wild, too many good ones... CB, Glam slam west, brussels, Colorado beat, the one with the bass intro on an aftershow I can´t remember, damn what he variate that track!! Just too funky, /Shun.
