The Purple Reign Continues

Prince continues his purple reign on Miami, visiting Prime Blue Grille around 11 p.m. Sunday night with, according to our source, "a charming lady." The two had an impromptu dinner in the private dining room overlooking the bay. "They came in through the back door. It was very hush hush." On Wednesday night, Prince stopped by Jazid, where he decided to play guitar with the band Xperimento--again, impromptu. On Saturday night, he returned and played live with Suenalo. We hope Prince decides to show up at the karaoke bar at The Shelborne one night and do a duet with us on Nothing Compares 2 U. Impromptu, of course.

Thanks 2 the bump Squad's no-name field reporter of South Beach 4 sending this in 2 us.

Why does every journalist in the world have to say he is having a 'purple reign' over wherever he happens to be?! It's agony.
You might not like the taste but I'm still gonna stick your face in this FUNK

Which is why they do it. neutral

Would it be jaded of me to have felt all along that he was in Miami because of the woman he is currently involved with?

because in their eyes "purple reign" is the only album he's ever done rolleyes and judging from this time last year in miami, he was proving it by that lame set list done at the superbowl
man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

He did a set list that would appeal to the masses. WTF is this so hard to understand. People are not going to pay big bucks to hear a bunch of obsucre songs that only the hard core fams know.

If you don't know that P has done more CD than PR than you don't know much about his style of music.

Are you on something ? It is the Superbowl. He did what a lot of other artist do at the Superbowl perform songs people know. In addtion he threw in the FF song and I remember reading a lot of great comments about it. Plenty of people seem to know the song.

And if P was nominated for a bunch of Grammies no need to push the CD anymore. He has a history of moving on to the next project quickly. Which is great because he is not running a project into the damm ground.

Dude, you must be smoking some shit cause the Rolling Stones performance was wacker than wack compared to Prince's and I'm not saying this because I'm a Prince fan. New song or not, EVERYONE talked about how boring the Stones were in 2006. Prince played songs that appealed to the kind of crowd that would go to a football game. Best of You was a great fit for the kind of guitar playing he did that night. Sure he could have played something from 3121 but he didn't. 3121 I believe was promoted during the Superbowl. I think one of the sports announcers mentioned it.
I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

naw black sweat was played over the PA prior 2 a commercial break..and i was getting phone calls from people asking me if prince had any music past purple rain after that per4mance ..and if it wasn't 4 the stones per4mance, prince would have never gotten the idea 2 have the symbol as a stage ...when U2 did the superbowl, they didn't go back in2 their catalogue and per4m all the songs from the joshua tree did they? shake

Lord your not even addressing the fact that the Stones sucked and Prince is not U2. Lot's artist with exception of U2 perform their old hits at a event like the Superbowl.

You will see Tom Petty do the same thing this year.

You do not have anything else to do but, notice the most simple and unimportant things. I don't know P has been using his logo for a long time and so have lots of other bands. Maybe they all bothered from the Rolling Stone. Who the hell cares and what does that have to do with the awful performance the RS put on. They were panned by everyone and Prince was praised.

You got to give credit when credit is due.
