Live Performance on Radio 1 (around 1992 ? )

Folks,
This one's probably aimed more at UK fans ...

Does anyone remember the short performance Prince did live on Radio 1 about 10 years ago? It was around 30 mins in total and included Peach and the Pope.

Strictly speeking this isn't a boot as it's no different from recording a concert on TV - so does anyone know how I could get my hands on a copy of it?

I wrote to the BBC a while back, but not surprisingly they told me they couldn't send me a copy.

Thanks ...

L

Fuck the funk - it's time to ditch the worn-out Vegas horns fills, pick up the geee-tar and finally ROCK THE MUTHA-FUCKER!! He hinted at this on Chaos, now it's time to step up and fully DELIVER!!
woot!

It's a fantastic performance ... I also have it on tape somewhere, in a box at the moment because I'm moving. If muirdo can't find it for any reason, give me a shout and I'll dig it out once I've unpacked.

I have actually been listening to this tape this morning - it is fantastic. If you need a copy, send me a message and your address - happy to help. It was on the 7th September 1992. I have all the commentary on as well as the concert. Simon Bates was just blown away.

7th September 1993 - the last day of the Act II tour - he played this short gig, a Wembley Stadium concert, and then the Bagley's aftershow on the Sacrifice Of Victor home video.

This 20-minute performance is the reason I will always love Prince and will see him live whenever I can - I listened to it on the radio, taped it, and have listened to it regularly ever since. It blew me away.

It's the 1999 medley (incl. Baby, I'm A Star - Rock The House (chant) - America - Pope - It's Gonna Be A Beautiful Night) and Peach (incl. Chaos And Disorder guitar). Even if you've heard this medley before, in an intimate setting the energy was unbelievable.

Everyone,
Thanks all for the offers.

JeePee .. have replied to your Note.

It really was an outstanding performance. It was around the time I was getting into Prince and hearing that one performance hooked me for life. I still maintain that THAT version of the NPG was the best band he's ever had - although the current lot aren't bad either smile

Cheers ...
