Micheal Jackson trying to be Prince.... again..

http://uk.news.yahoo.com/...16c_1.html

it seems when this guy cant think of anything to do, he tries to copy Prince, a tactic he's been using most of his career.

I don't know, but it seems to me that Michael still has the ability to sell out a tour. And knowing him, he won't be coming out Half-Stepping.

It'll probably be a big pile of nothing. Don't be shocked if the only stuff you hear between the 2 are the redone songs from Thriller coming out in February. That right there make me go ill

Ya know, my parents had "the King" back in the day, and we have a Prince. wink I feel that's the closest we have to someone like Elvis, performance, charisma and legend-wise. And eccentricity-wise!

Gotta love him.

as much as you dont like him you cant deny the fact he could do numerous concerts and sell the all out

but to be honest considering the number of stories that have appeared in the press recently i wont pay much attetion to this one until something other than a story on a news site has appeared such as an official statement etc

All i can say is God Help The Poor Guy eh U can only feel sori 4 him. He is such a pathetic sight as 2 the man he once was. I cant even look at the guy anymore due 2 wot he has done 2 himself over the years.
I just wonder at times about this being a PRINCE FAN SITE lol as it surely does give Michael Jackson some promotion at times lol

I have long wondered why MJ has not already tried to go on tour. I mean that is what he does. Like an earlier post stated, he should have no problem selling out the shows. I for one would go if he is close to my area. The only album he should mess with releasing is Thriller 25 eek

I never understood why MJ and Prince constantly get compared. The ONLY thing they have in common is that they are major entertainment icons, and eccentric ones. Other than that, they are COMPLETELY different. One has not copied the other, they both do completely different things, and are both equally talented at their respective efforts.

Stop comparing them, and stop trashing on MJ just because he's not your god, Prince. Heaven forbid the man decides to put on a show/tour (which you damn well know would sell out), especially in Europe where his biggest fanbase resides.

Grow up.

The article of the link says Michael Jackson is being lined up for a Prince-style residency at London's 02 Arena.

Now do you think he could do 21 Shows with any where near the number of people Prince drew????? razz

To be honest with you, yes. In fact, I think he'd draw MORE than Prince did. Easily.

People talk shit, but Michael Jackson is a legendary and exhilarating performer, and if people can see him, they will. Mark my words.

Your words have been marked! And, to be honest, there seems to be only one person here talking shit!

For a start, there are far more similarities between Prince and MJ than you care to admit - both of them are 49, they are both black performers who helped break down boundaries (such as black-artist video play on MTV), very successfully managed a cross-over in to white audiences....the list goes on. Hence why they have both been compared to each other for the last 20-odd years.

Furthermore, Jackson WAS a "lengendary and exhilarting performer" - past tense. You clearly have not seen any of his performances over the past 5 years, all of which have been underwhelming to say the least and mostly not even performed, just lip-synched. You really think he'll sell out more dates than Prince? Not a chance. Are you aware that MJ has spent the last 6 months living on the outskirts of Vegas desperately trying to get work? And he hasn't had a sniff! One of the promoters in the most (in)famous of towns said "Michael Jackson is radioactive - nobody will touch him".

He might be able to sell out a few nights, but he won't do a 21-date run. In fact, I'll bet he's not physically capable of doing a 21-night run, let alone with aftershows.

Michael was a great talent and produced some fantastic music - but that was all a long time ago. All he seems to do now is court controversy for entirely the wrong reasons and piss all over what ought to be a great legacy. Unfortunately, at the rate he has been going, he'll be remembered more for the controversies than his contribution to music.

I think Jacko could sell out stadium after stadium!
