Will Prince release another Dvd? Hey fellas,
I was wondering if you all think that Prince will release another live concert Dvd in the future? He hasn't put one out in five years. The last two Rave and Live at the Alladin ones were mediocre. At least Rave was a bit better considering the time legnth and bonus features. Now he can put out a much better one.I'm still keeping my fingers croosed for a real decent Dvd!Peace!

Why doesn't he release dvds like everyone else? I see nothing advantageous about it.

I got both DVD's you mentioned, and I like them both. But I would be interested with a DVD release from that O2 shows. I want to see that Sept 6th version of "The Beautiful Ones", I heard it was the best performance of that song. But maybe a highlights DVD, or the best of the 21 nights (including the videos that were on 3121 website).

I was among the lucky ones that night at the O2! A truly unforgettable performance of the Beautiful Ones. The whole show and aftershow that night were phenomenal I'd LOVE an official DVD to come out soon....wishful thinking I guess. Let's hope Prince goes on with this tour

I absolutely love the Alladin DVD, but find the Rave DVD embarassing, but in answer to the OP, I'm pretty sure Prince will put another one out someday - when he's good and ready, I guess.

Tupac is dead. That don't stop him. Prince has loads of unreleased footage he could have someone distribute. Its not like he personally has to go out with a sony hand held and record something new himself.

While I do love my Aladdin DVD, I will agree that the camerawork sucks and it's filled with cheese homemade slide show effects. But it's great for whenever somebody disses Prince and I make them watch "Whole Lotta Love." It changes their mind pretty fast. Then I go online to make them watch "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" and they become fans. A Live at the O2 DVD would sell a lot, in my opinion, especially from the sold out crowds who were actually there and from everybody in the states who couldn't go (raises hand).

I thought there'd be a DVD from both the Musicology tour and from the O2 shows. Musicology was a "comeback" to many non-fans and sold many tickets--you'd think a lot of those ticket sales would translate to DVD sales. I'm not even sure if any of those shows were filmed, though. I've actually seen clips of the O2 shows from when 3121 was online, and those clips looked better quality-wise than the Rave or Aladdin DVDs. I was thinking maybe those clips were a tease for a DVD release, but there's been nothing yet. If he owns the video of the O2 shows, how hard would it be to get distribution and release a DVD? Or does this have to do with business where Prince would want to keep the rights to the performance and expect a certain percentage of sales?

I agree, He's the most stingy Artist to his fans there is, He has tons of videos & Concerts. but keeps on releasing the same old hits in different Album sets! None of us buy that crap because a true fan already has it. He's Got videos for Chaos & Disorder,Emancipation,The Gold experience the list goes on! What is he waiting for, to die and have new stuff every other year like Tupac & Hendrix? The Purple Rain Concert is still on VHS 3 Chains of gold is Still on VHS Horny Pony Is still on VHS I like the way Alanis does it she always incorporates an aspect of Media in everything she releases. Thats satisfying for the money [Edited 1/21/08 19:38pm] We all want a big hit again because
we want to relive the Hysteria & Pandemonium we experienced when Purple Rain was Hot. Actually, he doesn't care if it happens again or not.
