AM I THE ONLY ONE WHO LOVED UNDER THE CHERRY MOON?

I THOUGHT THAT MOVIE WAS SO FUNNY AND CUTE. MY FAVORITE PART IS WHEN CHRIS AND TRICKY WENT TO THE FANCY RESTAURANT WITH MARY AND WERE TEASING HER ABOUT "WRECKA STO"

Not hardly! I thought UTCM was delightful and Prince has never looked so good to me.

My favorite part is when he breaks into a performance of "Boys and Girls" in the fancy restaurant and everyone starts getting their groove on (including he and Mary Sharon).

I wouldn't classify it as a blockbuster but it's definitely a "must-see" for any Prince afficionado.

Definitely entertaining and better than people give it credit for. The black and white was a great idea.

The music was DA BOMB, but the movie was A BOMB...

But it was better than Graffiti Bridge.

Let Prince act, let Prince sing... let Prince produce, arrange & per4m... just don't let him direct.

Cherry Moon is one of my favorite movies. It shows Prince's real humorous side. You can see how Morris Day came up with antics by the way Prince is in the movie.

Man, I hated this movie when it first came out in 1986.
I thought " what the hell was he thinking- where is purple rain II."

Now I have watched it a couple of times and really like it because it is funny and not a concert movie. It does show alot of the humour side we never see with him.

Now a conert movie to watch is Sign o' The Times.--Yeah baby!!

Peace,
T.

I'd love to see a few more Elvis style B-Movies like this one but I guess he'll never make another movie again. sad

UTCM is my all time favorite movie. But then again I love B cult classics like IN THE COLD OF THE NIGHT, MOMMY DEAREST (as a comedy), KILLER KLOWNS FROM OUTER SPACE, SORORITY BABES IN THE SLIMEBALL BOWL-O-RAMA & CLERKS

It showed Prince's silly side. He's a very 'fun' person. And can be very comical if he's comfortable.

A lot of people believe that Prince was trying to play a 'Morris Day' type character, like in Purple Rain...

I don't sgree though, I think they're both silly.

I admit that when UTCM came out, it was embarassing. Nobody "got" it and the press had a field day. It didn't help that the launch party was a total joke as well.

With time, though, this has become a favorite of mine. I think the problem was that we had this image of Prince as the Rude Boy. He was very mysterious, sulky, dark and moody and playing a role like Chrisopher Tracy just turned that image on its ear. Everyone was like, "WTF is that?" It seemed completly out of context.

With the perspective of time and as part of the vast array of all that Prince has done in his career, it stands well on its own. It does shows a side of him that has manifested itself in other performances and music he has done since then, so it seems to "fit" what we know about him a little better. And it is a funny movie! There's some great dialogue and some great silliness. The cinematography is very nice and I love the sets and costuming as well.

And, in the context of his career, it's another example of the wonderful way Prince has always kept you off balance. Just when you think you have him figured out, he comes at you from yet another angle and you flounder around a bit before you regain your equilibrium and truly get on board with where he's going this time. It's the very thing that has kept me following his career for the last 20 years. Whatever else you say about Prince, you can never call him "predictable".

The scene where P gets shot is VERY realistic, and not at all over-acted.
Apart from that-funny movie.

OK, I admit it...I'm stumped, too. What's the pillow scene? whofarted I thought I knew this movie scene by scene, but I'm totally lost...

And may I just take a moment to ask you all to join me in a heartfelt prayer to the gods of justice and the goodness of man that this movie be released on DVD ASAP!

My list of requested features isn't that long. Really! Just include:

Deleted scenes

Behind the scenes footage

Outtakes

Alternate angles

DTS (but I'll settle for Dolby 5.1)

Second disc with color version (just 'cause I'm curious)

Interviews with cast and crew

All related music videos

Interactive games for the PC (Beat the clock to spend Mary's birthday money before time runs out, Help Christopher and Tricky excape the Sharon family compound after they drop the ladder and run)

Photo gallery of stills from the film

Director's Commentary (Prince, if you do this one, I will turn vegan for a full month...I swear!

I think the pillow scene is where he is outside the house, and shouts 2 Marie's dad, sumthing about "stick a pillow under her ass-she likes it like that"(about Mrs Wellington)-I could B wrong tho!!

I wasn't crazy about the Soundtrack still not.as for the FIlm:I Liked the Film but Prince can't Act Himself out of a Par of High Heels.I thought His Buffon&Bugged Eyes Gestures were a bit much in spots.the Homo-Erotic overtones were a Bit Much as well IMHO.but the Story was Good IMHO.but Prince didn't show me much as a Actor nor as a Director.and He Banged too Bland Chics after having Appolonia.
