I remember when D&P was released in the UK and when the tour was announced.

I feel this was an album he needed to produce after the rather tame Graffiti Bridge.

Prince seemed to be somewhere close to Purple Rain stardom as far as casual fans go.

Diamonds & Pearls is and always will be one of my favs.

What do you think about the period of Prince's career?

All up it wasn't a bad album and I saw him in concert in this period which was Great.

I dont necessarily see the album as better than GB.

I think GB often gets a bit underrated not saying its one of the best but also
I am not saying D&P was either.
Both different albums and both good albums, one a musical other a live band feel hits album.

nice but it all went downhill from here imo

I almost agree but I tend to say it was after Lovesymbol which I rate as pretty good also.
From Come onwards I would say things havn't been as consitsant, just imo.

I loved Horny Pony - always wondered if an extended version existed.

I did not care for the rap stuff.

The music was great.

Strollin, Walk-Don't Walk. Life 4 Love, Thunder, Insatiable.
The music of Jughead/Push was fun though.

The TV appearances were great. Prince danced real well in this period.

I got this cassette for Christmas when I was 14 years old. I remember loving it back then. I made up a little dance to Thunder. I can't say it's one of my favorites but I do have some fond memories of it. Whenever I hear the song Diamonds and Pearls, it takes me back to the 8th grade, back when I was lusting after Tim...mushy
Shake it til ya make it dancing jig
