i was browsin on wikipedia and i was looking at the batman album info and when i scrolled down 2 the trivia section i came across this.....


The album was intended to have a good vs. evil theme. Tim Burton wanted the album to feature Michael Jackson, as well as Prince. Michael Jackson was supposed to have hero-themed songs representing Batman, while Prince would would have evil-themed songs representing The Joker. Michael Jackson declined.

hmmmm never heard of that story b4,im hopin 1 of u hardcore fans can confirm this or giv me sum info on the subject altho i must say if it did hav mj involved it would hav bin intresting 2 say the least

I dont think this is true, the way i heard it that the director, kim basinger and Jack Nicholson was big fans and wanted him to do a couple of songs for the movie but when prince seen the directors cut he was so inspired he came back with a album which became batman.

Prince also makes a cameo appearance in the film for a split second.

This movie is one of my ALL TIME favorites. I can pretty much recite the entire thing. I've seen it so many times I've lost count. I NEVER remember Prince being in it.

I like Tim Burton´s movies but Batman never impressed me, simply because it has very little in common with my idea of a perfect Batman adaption. Michael Keaton is cool but he is definitely not my idea of neither Bruce Wayne nor Batman, doesnt´t even remotely resemble the comic book hero. And don´t even get me started with Jack Nicholson as the Joker...that was a bad joke, even though I dig Mr. Nicholson.
Prince could have played a much better, more convincing Joker than Nicholson, as seen in the Partyman videoclip, he even looks like the comic book Joker.
So, this being said, I can totally relate to your post because I am also an oldschool Batman fan, and Batman Begins comes very close to a very good interpretation of the Batman I grew up with, especially with the R´as Al Ghul storyline. I loved those Neal Adams Batman interpretations of the late 70s, early 80s, with the Lazarus Pit story and Bruce being in love with Talia, R´as Al Ghul´s daughter.Great story, I wish they would´ve incorporated that into the movie.
Don´t know what to think of Heath Ledger though.

By the way, Prince´s supossed cameo appearance in Batman is just a rumor.
