***"Private Joy"---the best song on 'Controversy'.Shoulda been the third single, after "Let's Work".I bet this song would have been Prince's first big crossover hit.

***"Lovesexy"---shoulda been the second single.

***"Automatic"

***"Girls And Boys"---It was released as a single outside of America, but I think it should have been the official second single in the States, too.

***"The Future"

***"It"

***"Sleep Around"---woulda been a cool first single from 'Emancipation'

***"So Far,So Pleased"---Yes,the 'Rave' album has its flaws, but when it's good,it's very good. This song had "hit" written all over it.

I think No Doubt were releasing an album around tha ttime and legally they couldn't release So Far, So Pleased as Gwen Stefani dueted on it. A pity

Yeah, and wasn't Prince kinda mad at No Doubt? I remember he posted a message on his website, saying something like "the ball is in their court",meaning..he wanted to release it as a single, but it was up to them to approve of it.

In any event,he could have gone with "Baby Knows" as a first single. That track is cool, and much more exciting than 'TGRES'.

^ I remember that a lot of non-fans I knew thought that 'Baby Knows' WAS
the new single! Because every time he appeared on TV and played a song
from the new album, he always played 'Baby Knows' instead of TGRES.

It's hardly surprising that TGRES didn't do so well. It got so-so radio play,
there was no video (it wasn't made 'til months too late!) and Prince seemed
to be promoting 'Babt Knows' instead on every TV show he played on.

I don't know why he just didn't release "Baby Knows" as the first single. He could have done a really hot, sexy video with Sheryl Crow.

There could always be a chance, that I don't know what was released as a single, because, running out and buying the whole cd everytime they came out, put Prince's music at my fingertips...

However...I will list some songs that I believe deserved repetitive air play.

Don't say U Love me
Spirit
Open Book
Starfish and Coffee
It's gonna be a beautiful night
Gotta broken heart again
Love 2 the 9's
The Everlasting Now

Paisley Park
Push
Willin' and Able
Sweet baby
Money don't matterOne Kiss at a time
EmaleLife 'o' the party
If eye was the man in your life
Dear Mr, Man
Black Sweat
Somewhere Here on earth
