Definately the entire week of concerts at the Celebration...short of having dinner with the man, nothing will ever top that. Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

hearing around the world in a day...then when the "papa..I think I wanna Dance" part came, seeing the huge back curtain covering the stage fly away leaving my GOD at that time dancing shirt less on top of a piano..HEAVEN !

My best Prince expeirience was in October 1988 when a buddy and I road-tripped to Atlanta to see Prince on the Lovesexy tour at the late great Omni. We got box seats for the show and then were able to sneak into the post-concert party at the Omni Hotel. Everyone from the band was present except Prince. We met Cat, Billy Sparks, Miko, and Dr. Fink. That was incredible. the music knows what your motives are when you are making it
listen to The Replacements - its good for the soul

The best Prince-related thing that happened to me in '07 was that someone actually sent me an orgnote.

For 2007? the Superbowl, I guess. The rest of my Prince-related experiences for the year were actually pretty dismal and I'd rather forget them.. I did like Planet Earth a lot, though.
My greatest one of all time was the 2002 celebration. Nothing will ever come close to beating that one. "Half of what I say is meaningless; but I say it so that the other half may reach you." - Kahlil Gibran

My best Prince experience of '07?
May 19th, San Fransisco, Orpheum Theatre. The first time I saw him live. Part of my mind remains on the back wall of the joint to this day, where he blew it to that night. I was so lucky to catch him, too. I found out he was coming to 'sisco literally a WEEK before the concert. And it was all sold out, only seating maybe 2,000 at the most. I managed to grab a center ground floor seat ticket for just under its original price. Paid 200 bucks, and I would do it again in a heartbeat, because it payed off tenfold. What a night. I seriously think I almost cried when I realized I was hearing him play Purple Rain. [Edited 12/30/07 0:01am]

i won't say it's the best, but in 1988 friends and I had a unique experience of seeing Prince on his Lovesexy tour in 3 separate places. i was in Pittsburgh at the time, (April if I remember) and the others were in Philly and New Orleans. it was great comparing experiences and I recall my friend seeing Patti LaBelle join Prince in Philly.

Without doubt 21 nights in London. What a buzz that was. I didnt get to see my first show till the 24th of August, but it kicked off a marathon of shows for me.
There are far too many highlights here to mention, but a stand out for me is also linked to the org, was meeting up with many of the orgers on a regular basis throughout the shows and some on the clipper down to waterloo after . And a very special thanks again to those orgers that made it possible for my brother and I to get into the aftershow on the 21st. At 7pm that evening, we still had no aftershow tickets and it certainly did not look like we would get any. Then Domebaby69 and Mentalist came up to me and said they had 1 spare ticket, I asked how much, they laughed and said no, just take it. You have a better chance of getting a second ticket if you have one already. I think the expression on my face must have been priceless. Later that night, we were outside the indigo, and the elusive second ticket had still not surfaced, my brother got a call to his phone, that we should stand at the barriers by the entrance. Orgers Lovealotbare and Purplepassion72, had come up with an ingenius plan, next thing we knew, we were inside. Plus about 4 other orgers, who also had no tickets. That for me was the ultimate experience, a real community experience and naturally the aftershow was a 3 hour not to be missed experience to boot Peace N B Wild and a Happy New Year to you all If it were not for insanity, I would be sane.

My one and only Prince experince happened in 1984. I was down at First Ave and it was right before "Purple Rain" came out. I was just getting drunk and being stupid when I saw Prince about two feet away from me. I went up and tapped him on the shoulder and all of a sudden I heard someone say "If you want to meet Prince step around the front" It was Chick. I didn't know who he was, but by the looks of him, I figured I better do what he said. So I went around and said hi to Prince and shook his hand. Then my drunk ass asked him if he liked the Rolling Stones. Not long after that I read a story about Prince opening for the Stones and getting booed off the stage. I felt like a jackass after that. In 2007 ? The O2/Indigo shows, of course . Arena shows, and aftershows.
In general ? The third celebration in 2002, going to the movies with Prince and all those incredible people I met there. The shows, the songs, going to Paisley Park and feeling like being at home. The 1995 Holland concerts, especially the first night of the Paradiso aftershows..that Gold Experience phase was, in my opinion, on of his most energetic and interesting phases. The NPG was supertight. And , of course, the multiple times of meeting Prince by accident ( driving next to me on the highway in Chanhassen, or in Berlin 1994 when we saw his car in the middle of the street, or walking into a soundcheck in the 90s because we took the wrong entrance in Frankfurt ..we were lucky they let us stay inside and enjoy the soundcheck). All his threating the fansites drama has shed a bad light on him but, in retrospect, despite all the drama and hassle I´ve been through in order to make it to his shows, all these nice memories make me reminisce and appreciate the great moments of joy he´s given us over the years. His shows make me feel good for a very , very long time. Like medicine or going on holiday but the effect lasts longer. " I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"

Best Prince experience of 2007...
1. Being in the Superbowl halftime show because including rehearsals, I got to see the whole show, effects and all 4 times in total. 2. Minneapolis on 7-7-7. Three shows in one day including a mind blowing aftershow...Prince was HOT that night. I can't decide which was best... Prince, in you I found a kindred spirit...Rest In Paradise.

During my last prostate exam,
when the doctor finished, in my anxiousness to get the procedure over with (personally...never been much of a fan of this medical practice), I got up so fast that the doctor's glove ended up staying uhmnn...."with" me. But before the overwelming tide of embarrasment could overcome me, Sugar Walls began playing over the loud speakers. The bit of irony that resulted from that particular song playing at that particular moment left me & the doctor both laughing in "stitches'! At least, now that I think about, I hope that that was why he was laughing..... [Edited 12/30/07 11:15am]
