When Doves Cry Tote I just wanted to post this really quick (sorry if it has already been posted) but I was at Target and saw this tote bag that had a drawing of a lady's face on it (you know the one that in the backround of the revolution posters and sheds a single tear on When Doves Cry video). I said that looks exactly like the girls face on Prince's WDC video. I looked closer and it was! I'm not entirly sure if this is a marketing front with Prince behind it but it should be at a Target store near you! So hit it up if your interested. Peace out fam. U want to know the secreat of love and happiness? Love GOD with all your heart, mind soul and strength. And love your neighboor as yourself.

That is so cool. I have two targets near me (one is just two blocks from me)
I need to hit them up and see if they have it. I really like that face, I want to paint a big one and put it on my wall.

[Edited 12/28/07 14:37pm] Hmm. that's a first for me to hear that. Who else has used that picture? "For those who know the number and don't call...Fuck all y'all"

Wasn´t that face simply one of those Pierrot faces that were kinda hip in the mid 80s ? Just google Pierrot face or something and I guess you´ll get your answer...those faces were everywhere, on every thing, in the 80s. I LOVE Target, we have one 2 minutes from my house so you know I will casually go there and scope it out. The other day I bought some designer pants by Isaac Mizrahi for Target. They are well made except I didn't read the little label that said "Dry Clean" before I washed them with my regular clothes dag nabbit.

Everytime I think of that face...I seem to have some memory of the artist that did the artwork for one of Duran Duran's records...
I'd like to know, why I think this may be true? does anyone know if the artist is the same person? "The Lion Sleeps Tonight...

I'd like to know, why I think this may be true? does anyone know if the artist is the same person? no idea, but the new romantic era was all about guys in make up/big hair/frilly clothes. steve strange was said 2 have inspired this trend! the 80's were glam madness! other uk artists used 'eye' elements..the emphasis all on the eyes, the mask

[Edited 12/28/07 16:42pm] I just googled Pierrot, and was looking at some of his paintings. A lot of them were clowns and masks, which reminded me of the clowns and masks that Prince had in his basement in the movie "Purple Rain". Makes me wonder if Prince is an admirer of Pierrot's work? Not sure, but it's just a thought I had while looking at the images online. Here is the link: http://images.google.com/...rch+Images RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

Yup thats the face right there! THANKS for the pic brocklynn this is on the tote except for the wierd eyebrows Yeah it was popular image in the 80's but it so reminds me of early Prince The reason it probably isnt on the Target website is b/c it a spankin brand new item and it might take some time for it to get on there- So sorry fam in the uk might have 2 wait U want to know the secreat of love and happiness? Target has some pretty good quality clothes (especially Issac) for the price...you'd be suprised (sorry about ur pants ) think have a shirt bought from them years ago..and its still in good condition..so go figure U want to know the secreat of love and happiness?
