I Love Planet Earth - again! Been listening to this album again today after not listening to it for a few weeks. I haven't been listening because following all the suggestions I bought 1999 and have been listening to it. I like 1999 but after listening to PE today, I realized how much I missed it.
I'm not as much a hardcore fan that will do a detailed summary/review compared to his other albums but have come to appreciate this CD for what it is, beautiful, clean music. My feelings on his newer/recent songs probably won't sit too well with those of you who have been long time fans but when I heard that he became a JW, I was anticipating music I could listen to and have kids/family listen to without it being trash as lot of the music in general is today. My overall review of Planet Earth can be summed up in 2 simple emoticons: & OH, I ALMOST FORGOT, THIS IS AN APPRECIATION THREAD! GO AHEAD, APPRECIATE! WHAT DO YOU LIKE ABOUT PE? Chelsea Rogers...
Sorry, my ADD is getting the best of me right now! But love those ladies (can't think of their names right now - love 'em)

the title track, the 1 U wanna See, Resolution and Chelsea Rodgers.
The others I usually skip, on the rare occasions I listen to it. It wasn't a bad album at all. I just don't spin it often.

sometimes it's just easier to throw out the plastic bottle with the garbage.

sometimes it's just easier to throw out the plastic bottle with the garbage. See the evil marketing concept behind it ? "Don't throw away this CD cuz it will mean you don't care about planet earth." [Edited 12/16/07 6:00am] The Colors R brighter, the Bond is much tighter

i have a deep respect for Planet Earth. i truly enjoy it more than 3121 and Musicology, though I respect each compilation for its individual merit. i think PE describes where Prince is in his growth as a human being, and how he sees the world around. he also shares what he would like to see happen in the world in songs like Resolution and PE itself, and Lion of Judah reminds me that he has battles of his own, of the spiritual and physical kind.

What did I say? I meant that after listening to only PE in my car from the time I got it, I started listening to 1999 in my car. But since yesterday, I began listening to PE once again and fell in love with it all over again. I hope that sounded right this time...

[Edited 12/16/07 13:28pm] if u wish ..please assume the position cause this album sucks still man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

I have been listening to 3121 this week, actually...
Before that it was C&D, before that, Musicology... One of these days I'll be back in the mood for PE. But meanwhile, I will learn to play "Resolution;" because no doubt it'll come in handy for some anti-war pow-wow that takes place around here. Good stuff on that album, without a doubt.
