I'm glad to hear it.

I'm glad though it was 2nd to Jimi Hendrix, though. He's practically legendary, that man.
I suspect that Prince was influenced by him a little because people thought he was "doing the Jimi Hendrix thing with his guitar."
He brushes off that comparison, though, because he thought it was because of the color of his skin and there won't be another like Jimi Hendrix. All he can do is be himself.

Prince is brilliant all around as a musician. I'm glad he ranked this high, beyond thrilled, in fact. I mean, who else can project their innermost feelings through guitar strings? That itself makes Prince special

Prince once said that the main influence on his guitar style is Carlos Santana.

It seems he's getting better as time goes on. I often thought he was underrated, but after performances like RRHOF, SNL and the Superbowl, folks can't deny this dude.

the only people that think prince should be #1 either don't listen to other music, or are fanatics who can't admit that prince isn't as good as a guitarist as...

prince is very talented and has had his moments, but he shouldn't even be in the top ten.

Hold on there buddy! I happen to listen to a lot of other music. From rock, to country, to jazz. I also happen to personally rank Prince as MY number 1 guitarist. Not based on technical ability or speed or anything of that nature, but based on his particular style and charisma, and what he has created on the guitar. Most of my favorite instrumentalists aren't technically the "best" on their instrument, but have a personal flavor, if you will, that attracts me to them.

With that being said, I would never try to convince anyone that Prince is the "best" guitarist in the world.
