Prince no Phoenix?

I was wondering why Prince never tours Phoenix, I have lived here 9 years now, and have yet to see him tour here. I was very dissapointed when our city only got a satellite feed of his Musicology tour, we are only 6-7 hours away from Los Angeles what gives?? We are the major city of the southwest, with plenty of big arenas for concerts. Madonna,George Clinton, and the Rolling Stones, just to name a few have graced us, so why not Prince? I hope his tour stops here if he's going to do a U.S. tour of Planet Earth, I am sure if your a Prince fan and live here in Phoenix you can understand, where is our man neutral

I could have sworn that he played Phoenix (or another major city) in Arizona during the ONA tour and the Musicology tour. I could be wrong, though.

He did not tour Phoenix for Musicology that is why we were given the satellite feed from his kick off show for the tour, in Los Angeles. They had this satellite viewing at one of our cinemas, I mean it was cool to see and everything, but nothing beats the real deal if you know what I mean.

I totally understand what you mean.

We had the same feed here in Dallas and was treated to the tour like 2 or 3 days later. That is why I thought he made a stop in either Phoenix or New Mexico before heading to Dallas.

It was definitely a treat.

See my point, basically his tour took the time to skip Phoenix to go to Dallas, I am sure it was not Prince's personal choice, probably his PR people could not or did not want to book him here for some reason, but still as a fan sittin here in Phoenix makes me feel like in a kind of dead zone for Prince vibes. What I mean is first he does not come here, and when I try to talk to people about him, no one wants to listen, not much fans here. Hey maybe I hit on something here,if there is not a big enough fan base then that could be it...

I thought the Musicology tour did stop somewhere in Arizona. I think that was the show many fans were disappointed with cause he did an abbreviated version of the acoustic set. I think because the show started late, he had to cut some parts out. I thought it was Phoenix, but maybe it was another city.

Maybe the promoters have had a problem booking a venue in Phoenix. Do you get other tours in Phoenix? You should contact the venue and ask them them whats up.

Yes other major tours come to Phoenix all the time, as you can see in my original e-mail the names that have booked here. I admit Phoenix is not the most exciting city, but it is pretty big city. Anyway time for me to hang my hat on this now, if a PE tour is in the works hope Phoenix is on the list.

The One Nite Alone tour played at the Dodge Theatre in Pheonix in April 2002 most recently. The 1999 tour stopped in by in 1983, along woth two visits in 1997 with both the L4OA and Jam Of The Year tours.

So, it's not that he "never tours Phoenix" - he has, it's just that you either missed it, or it happened prior to 9 years ago.

Well truth be told I did not really follow anything Prince related from 97 - 2004,I will not got into why, would bore most, and also for personal reasons. But of course when I got back into following again, I guess I did not do my homework so to speak, of course in all fairness I belive he at one point did not tour for about 6 years. I now do remember something rather obscure about the Musicology tour here, I do not think he did a full show, of course I did not go. Rumor was he cut the show short and left town. Still alot of tunes of his I have yet to hear.
