My dream re-release (trying to be somewhat realistic):

1999: 25th Anniversary Edition [Warner Bros/NPG]

CD1: The complete album, remastered and uncensored (keep your hands off it Prince! lol)

CD2: Bonus tracks and more
-Irresistible Bitch
-How Come U Don't Call Me Anymore?
-Horny Toad
-Little Red Corvette (Dance Mix)
-1999 (The New Master)
-Moonbeam Levels*
-Delirious (Extended Version)*
-Plus video files for all the promo videos and a live excerpt!

*previously unreleased

- Extensive liner notes by someone close to Prince at the time (Dez, Wendy & Lisa, Bobby Z), with a catchy title like "Party At The Apocolypse" lol

- Original Artwork, complete with the pics from the inner sleave of the original LP.

- Only make 199,999 copies of the thing, with each one assigned a production number to give it some real value!

- A re-release of What Time Is It? and Vanity 6 (also remastered) to coincide with the release.

pray

Not a bad idea nod

How about putting DMSR on disc 2? haha... cuz it didnt make the cut on the original... why not?

And Moonbeam Levels... oh, that's one close 2 my heart... I already have those tracks laying around somewhere that u listed... but still... it'd be nice if he released that song. So beautiful, its a pity it didnt make the original cut.

Then again hmmm I'm not quite sure how/where it would fit it. Every song on the album has its place.
had 2 run away... pride was 2 strong. It started raining, baby, the birds were gone

Wait, theres a version without DMSR? I couldn't imagine my life without dance music sex and romance!! eek

yeah, CDs couldn't hold as many minutes of music in the 80s so "D.M.S.R." was removed when it was first issued. you'll see it like that at used music stores.

There's also a single LP version of 1999 that's missing 'D.M.S.R.' and 'International Lover'.
It is not known why FuNkeNsteiN capitalizes his name as he does, though some speculate sunlight deficiency caused by the most pimpified white guy afro in Nordic history.

The first CD pressings of 1999 are NOT 'the original' version of the album... rolleyes
DMSR was included on the 1999 double LP (which in this case, is 'the original'). There was also a single LP version issued that was missing DMSR and International Lover.

There are alternate mixes of Delirious and Something In The Water (Does Not Compute).
There are probably more outtakes than just Moonbeam Levels, right?

Someone (Prince) once said in an interview that the vocals of 1999 were recorded differently (I think all together or just Prince's vocals). I would love to hear that version.

The Musicology live version of D.M.S.R. was awfully wicked too...

Extra Lovable supposenly is to be on Crystal Ball II. If Prince ever releases it. I don't think it'll go good with the rest of 1999 since it was recorded afer 1999 was already completed.
Some people think I'm kinda cute
But that don't compute when it comes 2 Y-O-U.
