Everything is bigger and better in Texas. Living in Texas might make Prince 5' 6".

Oh yeah, here is a Yee Haw!!!! for 'yall' that think Texas is all boot scootin.

Excuse me while I ride my horse to Crawford ranch, eat some red meat, watch the Cowboys, polish my boots, and take a nap naked with the Texas flag wrapped around me.
(Insert something clever here)

I'm sick of people from Texas with all their Texas pride.

The rest of the Country does *not* follow Texas....

And you mention Bush as a reason to come to Texas? Really? I can't imagine more polar opposites. You think Bush and Cheney have Sexy Dancer on their iPod? Think Prince donates to the RNC?

Actually, I can't think of a worse place for Prince to go.... Mississippi maybe?

No one asked you to follow us. You probably couldn't keep up, anyway.

Hey, what if I told you Prince already does live here? How would that make you feel?

Hey...TX is much better than LA. At least our roads aren't a bunch of pot-holes lol

The stars at night...are big and bright (clap clap clap clap) deep in the heart of Texas...

The traffic is horrible! It's hot! And I left my Ex in Texas! Louisiana is a homely place...Everyone's friendly and the weather is nice...I'm not saying that La is a better place to be but you can always go home...Plus if he comes this way, we'll feed him and he'll get back to a healthy weight... wink

B____please! Texas rocks in case you don't know...And I'm proud to live here.

No reason to get all disrespectful and defensive, whoever you are! Nobody but you mentioned anything about 'hee-haw' and 'stupid' in connection with Texas.
I lived in Texas myself for 3 years and while I'm glad that you're proud to live there, it doesn't have to be everybody's favorite state. And Bush was pointed out in the o.p. and I don't like Bush, if that's ok with you.
If you agree that Prince should move back to Minneapolis, why did you get offended in the first place.

rolleyes

I'm sorry to get disrespectful on you GiGi319...You're right that was uncalled for...Just for the record, I do not like President Bush either, even if he is from Texas. Actually it's kind of embarrasing that he is. I just went on a rant when you said "Who in their right mind would want to live in a state where the president is from"...or something like that. Thats like putting all Texans down because the president comes from here. Prince is from Minneapolis and to me that's the only reason I would EVER visit Minnesota. To visit Paisley Park. I love the old school Minneapolis sound. So yes I think Prince should be where his hearts at...If it's still there...Texas is still my state, though...Go Cowboys!!!

Wow, well that wasn't my experience at all when I went to Louisiana . I found most of the people to be less than friendly which was dissapointing because I was expecting that since it was the South, people would be a little friendlier but I was wrong. I also found that the place was way too humid for my liking, I could never live there. Louisiana is unlike any place i've been too, I just found the whole place to be weird confused and it just gave me a bad feeling which is kinda funny coming from someone like me who was born and raised in New York City but Louisiana just rubbed me the wrong way . I did however LOVE the food there lol and that's probably the only reason I would ever go back to visit.

And I know i'm getting way off topic here but oh well....

So now we have Tamar, Morris Hayes, Cora, Joshua: all from Houston, Texas... it seems like Prince has surrounded himself with Houstonians. Not even counting Beyonce.

Wouldn't it be cool if Prince owns a home in Houston? And what if it was next door to Beyonce's? Wouldn't that just ROCK?

Yeah, it would...innocent

bush is not from texas at all he is from connecticut.he just claims texas as his home.i currently live in houston texas but i was also born in connecticut but not the rich part like bush.if prince moved to texas he would probably move out right away because he would not be able to deal with the humidity.in my opinion it wouldnt help his career, but i guess we would never know unless he does it.

If he sounded the same / was the same - I'd like him the same. That makes me wonder though, do cities in Texas have a sound? Minneapolis has a sound, Seattle has a sound, Memphis, etc. Honest question - is a city in Texas known for anything musically?

Texas' SXSW music festival is known around the world a this point (attracting bands from all over). That's the biggest musical force in Texas. Even Prince was around for that last March. Remember he also played a private gig in Texas (in Austin), and played a Tamar show in Houston.

As far as putting a mark on music.... it all about the dirty south rap these past few years... rappers from the ghettos of Texas are all over MTV these days.
that and Destiny's Child (Beyonce)

Oh yeah... and Kelly Clarkson is from Houston, and also Jessica Simpson is from Dallas.

in film news we got Wes Anderson, Robert Rodriguez, Richard Linklater, Matthew McConahey, Rene Zellwiger (I know I am mis-spelling) and of course Quentin Tarrantino has been hanging out in Austin since 1994 when I watched a screening of Pulp Fiction with him sititng in the middle of the audience.

The late Selena was from Corpus Christi. Known for Tejano music.

I understand where u are coming from. I'm from Texas and have visited NYC, Orlando, Los Angeles, New Orleans, etc. and find that Louisiana people are a different breed (compared to other cities). Mind you, I grew up about 40 miles from the border of Lousiana and went to Shreveport on a regular basis (which is probably one of the most dangerous cities in the country), but I found as you travel into the heart of Louisiana, the people get nicer.
