Wouldn't that have been cool? If P had released DMSR as a single, we would have gotten a video. As a kid, everytime I played this song, I always visualized P doing the video, not on stage like 1999 or Little Red or Automatic or Let's Pretend. But at a house party setting. I always saw the inside of this two story house, nothing fancy. Just a regular house party going on with people in the living and dining room. Some are just standing around talking with a cig in their hands. Some are dancing. Mixed in the crowd is P's band members, The Time and Vanity 6. Since P name checks The Time and Vanity6 in the song, they would be at this party in the house. All of them are just socializing with the other people at the house. I see Jesse walking downstairs with a couple of girls. Morris is definately talking to a couple of girls. Vanity is sitting on a sofa, holding court. J.J. is dancing with a guy. So is Susan. Lisa is over in the corner, talking to some folks, smoking a cig, checking everone out. Bobby is upstairs on the balcony. Brown Mark is in the hallway, making a play on this girl. And through it all, u see Prince walking through the house, looking at the camera, singing the lyrics. And then on the chorus, u see all of the different members singing along.

What would happen at the end of the video,when Lisa screams "Help,somebody call the police!!"

There would be shots of P and his band on stage mixed in, but the bulk of the video would be at this house. Everyone would be dressed exactly how they dressed on stage. P would have on the outfit he wore in the Automatic video, strolling through the house, singing. He would be upstairs, downstairs, walking through the hallway. Mind u, the house wouldn't look like that in Purple Rain. This would have been BEFORE Purple Rain. It could have looked hella cool. Everyone would have stood out even more because they would have been in a normal setting. It would have been a standard video like the ones all artists had done in 82, but it would have been different because it would have been Prince and his mob. I always saw that as a kid whenever I played this song. For some reason, it had a spooky element to it. This vision. seeing everyone there, mixed together like that. And everyone looking into the camera singing the chorus. Weird shit like a shot of Andre walking out the door but u can't really see his face. U remember how house parties were back in high school were it was like a maze and all of this different folks would be there. Some u knew, some u didn't.

A white girl sreaming for someone to help her and to call the police at a party where a bunch of bruthas are at. That's the setting in the song....damn.

Morris was speaking for himself. You must be forgetting about the brief period of time that they made king size tootsie rolls back in the 1980s. They were just as long as a king size snicker bar but they were skinny. A motherfucker like Jellybean looks like he's packing a cucumber so Lisa would definately scream when she saw that. However, Jerome looks like he's got a little jalapeno pepper. Lisa would have took one look at that little thing and dipped it in a bowl of chili.
