Annie Christian...Annie Christ...= a play on the name Anti Christ. So she is the Anti Christ who is causing all this...bad stuff. I guess. [Edited 12/12/07 15:54pm]

annie christian= ANY christian = anybody. anybody is capable of the bad things he catalogues in the song. anyone can do bad, it's a darkness that given the right circumstances anybody can become the "anti christ" (opposite of "christ"-like behavior or anti-"christian").
he shows a paranoia ("i'll live my life in taxi cabs") about the terrible things he sees people do (and he is describing the child killings in atlanta in the early 1980's, and government fraud), and it makes him want to retreat from the world; nothing seems safe, because ANY body could be evil. funny that he actually would become a sort of recluse in various stages of his career, prone to not connect with people/dispose of naysayers, quick to judge and take up a severely structured sort of christianity to make order and sense of his world... if you could just pass your history class, baby, life would be all right.

I always thought that since this song is so short, Prince should've melded it with another song, like Sister, to make it longer.
That would be motorin'.
