Why is the song Possessed dedicated to James Brown?

i always wondered this myself as the song sounds nothing like any james brown song i've ever heard.he doesn't even do one of his funny impersonations on it,like how he did at the end of "g-spot" and "the line".my first guess was he was "possessed" and "stone crazy in love" with james and his music.but as he goes on about pussy and stuff i doubt this is the case.good question, though.u got me. confuse

the whole song,i thought.that's what the jewel box bootleg says(not that i have it,by the way whistling).i'm assuming that's where the original poster got it from.

When I said line, I don't mean in the song, but at the end of the Prince and the Revolution Live video/CD it says it in the ending credits. Dedicated to James Brown. Like the orger said before it doesn't sound anything like a JB song. The song sounds like something he would be dedicating to a young lady. I would like to dedicate the song to someone I'm possessed with right now. Like a certain actor by the name of Jensen Atwood (Wade from Noah's Arc)

The performance on the video has that JB sound. I know the original song is not JB like at all but, I assumed that is why he gives James a tribute on the Live video.
