hell, I don't know...that would be up to him...but I think some outside influence may reinvigorate his work...

...I really think Prince and Rick Rubin could be an interesting combination...

I think you guys are praising Timbaland just because his stuff is on the radio.

Wow, it's amazing how you know that! And about an ENTIRE forum too! clapping

No, these days it's simply "cool" for people to hate whoever is on the radio for longer than 10 minutes. It's lame and predictable. If a song sounds good, who cares who made it? I like Timbaland's music and right now, I'd MUCH rather listen to it than Prince's. Mainly because I know Timbo won't be hurling lawsuits at me if I choose to save a picture of him or watch a video of his.

I think Prince intentionally wrote, mixed, and produced Planet Earth with an almost 70's mindset to escape all comparisons to Timbaland and Outkast. I think he was closer to their sound in 1994-5, and it doesn't personally interest him now. I'm sure he does want a hit though, but he has to wrestle with the fact that he has treaded a lot of stylistic ground in the past.

Yup. I agree. wink

if you love timbaland so much, why aren't you at his fansite instead of prince's. razz

YES..if he wants a hit album and looots of airplay!!
The most fun and catchy hit songs this last year came from
albums produced by Timbaland:Justin,Nelly and himself.
example:Lovestoned is a great funk/pop song, even a bigger hit than Sexyback in some European countries(and massive airplay on ALL radiostations).

But...if U prefer The Rainbow Children above D&P or Purple Rain,I can imagine
U don't like the idea wink

I would really like 2 hear at least one Prince song produced by Timbaland,
that'swishfull thinking off course....we allready had this kind of question
about Pharrel.I also think Rick Rubin could do a great job with Prince!

no no no no no!! Positively not!!

Dont get me wrong I am a huge Timbaland fan, but I just think everything on the Radio sounds the same, every other track is a Timbaland produced track and as much as I sure as hell like it, I prefer Prince being an individual, not following the crowd to ensure a fast buck.
Oh Princey if your free for a couple of hours...If you aint busy for the next 7 years...Lets Pretend were married, and go all night..

Yeah, but now he's resorted to suing his fans for a fast buck...Which is worse? Attacking your fans, or making 'Pop'corn.

FarrahMoan

I really "USED" to like Timbaland. He's fallen off my radar (And, so has Nelly Furtado.....somewhat.). I was a big fan, believe it or not. Then, I found out how dishonorable he could be, with his fat, lazy, incompetent, sample-pushin' ass! confused Seriously. Is it really "THAT" hard that you can't stop sampling shit and start using an authentic, genuine, organic instrument from scratch? REALLY!!!!

I agree nowadays no one can really just come up with there own instrumental. Still, I don't care regardless tims music will suck sample or not.

Timbaland's a thief. Maybe if he apologizes one day for the crap he's pulled, I'll consider listening to his shit.

Agreed - I listen to Timbaland and Prince but Prince I can listen to again and again and it's all different...Timbaland has now become extremely repetitive (except for a few odd songs here and there)...but who knows what they might come up with confused
