Timbaland prefers to work with REAL artists...you know musicians who have had hits in the last 10 years or so.

I hate to say it too but really, everything on Planet Earth is laughable compared to the beats Timbo came up with for The Way I Are or My Love.

I think Prince intentionally wrote, mixed, and produced Planet Earth with an almost 70's mindset to escape all comparisons to Timbaland and Outkast. I think he was closer to their sound in 1994-5, and it doesn't personally interest him now. I'm sure he does want a hit though, but he has to wrestle with the fact that he has treaded a lot of stylistic ground in the past.

I think you guys are praising Timbaland just because his stuff is on the radio. I don't think anything Timbaland has done is as good as Planet Earth. At least Prince moved on with his sound. Timbaland is still doing what he has done for more than 10 years. I love Prince sounding like Prince. Just because his stuff may not be a hit does'nt mean it's not good. These days crap sells.

Wow, it's amazing how you know that! And about an ENTIRE forum too! clapping

Stop posting here, Prince. We know it's you. rolleyes

At least Prince moved on with his sound.

He did? Uh...why does most of PE sound like Emancipation then?

Timbaland is still doing what he has done for more than 10 years.

Yeah, because Aaliyah's Try Again sounds so much like Nelly's Promiscuous. And Aaliyah's One In A Million sounds so much like The Way I Are. And JT's My Love is basically exactly the same as We Need A Resolution....Yeah.....rolleyes

I love Prince sounding like Prince.

Too bad there's people out there today doing better Prince impersonations than himself. Sad fact.

Just because his stuff may not be a hit does'nt mean it's not good.

Course not. No one really said that. Maybe if he stopped suing us and actually promoted his album and let the goddamn videos be SEEN, people would stop listening to "evil" timbo and friends and realise Prince actually still makes music.

These days crap sells.

No, these days it's simply "cool" for people to hate whoever is on the radio for longer than 10 minutes. It's lame and predictable. If a song sounds good, who cares who made it? I like Timbaland's music and right now, I'd MUCH rather listen to it than Prince's. Mainly because I know Timbo won't be hurling lawsuits at me if I choose to save a picture of him or watch a video of his.

Prince's beats are really "On the 1".

Meaning: there is no delay, or Hiphop "swing"in his drum machine patterns or play
(and when he tried it with assistance, it sounded wrong).

Prince improvises solos, and has "bridges" to his songs..It would be a clutter to a tight Hip-Hop beat..

"Soulja Boy" has a bigger hit than anyone..

Who is his producer?

Doesn't a "Real Artist" produce, and compose his own music?

Or he could just work with a 6 year old. Timblands makes beats a baby could make.... Where's the talent? Besides each ones sounds the same as other it's the same basics. He NEVER changes his stlye up.

Prince/Mr. Nelson should stop releasing CD on any major corporation..

He should sign Eric to the horns section, and tour as

"Madhouse/ N.E.W.S".

Through in some Prince songs..
That would get me out to see him again.. No doubt.

Madhouse/ N.E.W.S. live in smaller venues?
