Yeah, I love both versions, but I think Cyndi's one is a little more dramatic.

I have seen a live-performance of this song by Cyndi Lauper from 1985.

It did strike me how dated, and clumsily "eighties" her version sounds.

Personally i think Princes version (with the sober production) is much more timeless then Cyndi's version.

I prefer Cyndi's voice on the track. The drama she puts into it. Also, I prefer the bigger sound on Cyndi's version, even if it is "eighties". Sadly, the official version is not on Youtube so I can't post a link.
