It happened after the 'diss' track - I just can't feel the same way about his stuff I genuinely hope it's temporary, but this time he has gone so far in showing his disregard and what appears to me at least, to be contempt for his fanbase that when I listen to him it just makes me feel like a patsy for continuing to support him all these years - even more so given I enjoyed the London aftershows so much I wish he would come out and explain himself in a clearly worded statement rather than the silence we have at the moment I am sure he believes himself to be in the right - at the moment though I just cannot see his point of view and more importantly cannot understand his methods Anyone else feeling the same? I have been a fan for some 30 years and knew he had little love for us , but this just seems a bridge too far..... Yeah, I feel the same way and I am still very blue about it. For those of you who don't understand, that's cool, just quit trying to take a dump on my path...I didn't ask you to join me on it. I'm firmly planted in denial

lol
love the life of brian - the .org is like the JPF!! and fair play to anyone who thinks I am weak or needs a diddums! you have never met me and know nothing about me so it's fair comment with the limited posts I have made above - which probably do appear a bit whiny if I am honest the main problem really for me has been this 'diss track' if that's what it is? I see your point re it not being - tbh that was my original thought too - but the alternative interpretation holds water too? If it is a slap in the face to fans then I am pretty peeved I couldn't give a monkey on a stick about posting pics or vids btw - never have been - so the post above re that is a little wide of the mark I do not like lawyers trying to bully the little people and I do believe in free speech - on both sides - including the right to privacy / commercial rights to pics where applicable etc AND the right to criticise the point is, at the moment I too am skipping his songs on my ipod - not as a protest - not due to grief, just due to the fact that I feel hacked off with the current situation and how it has apparenty spiralled to a war between fans and prince and/or his people

I find that I can listen to all the stuff before "PFUnk", although now it's with more than a little chagrin. I am afraid that I may have no desire to buy anything else from Prince, though. I also need to hear something definitive from Prince, where he clearly explains that he does not hate his fans.

Rightly said: The man vs. the music, and not suprisingly the music wins down.
The man has always been a Jackass, and removed from reality. For those of you who can't appreciate his music anymore I've no sympathy. You must've been very deluded in the 1st place. You may be reight, but in the past, he never did anything to me directly. "PFUnk", however, is a direct slam at all fans, including me. So even if Prince has always been a jerk, it hasn't been until now that he's been a jerk to ME.

When all of this started, I felt a little odd playing his music but not enough to skip the track when it came on. I wondered why that was and it was because I don't see Prince as God, not saying anyone else here does. I was also in the same place as many of you when the 1st wave of fansite troubles happened but the music had made too much of an impact on me. Plus, a few years earlier, I made a vow to myself to stay with Prince no matter what was going on with him, good or bad.
I don't like what P and his team are doing but I understand that this is his way of doing things and I'm used to it now. I'm surprised that there are fans of his that aren't used to this thing by now if they were here 8-10 yrs ago but it is what it is and I won't knock you if that is you. In the end, it's all about the music. Hopefully, if P is too much for you right now, you'll be able to listen to his music in the near future but if not, it was fun wasn't it? If you are having issues with the music, I would like to give each of you this: I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

Same happened to me a while back (over being ripped off over VIP tix and losing the ability to play my NPG music club music). This has just meant I see it going on longer. Personally I think it will pass, even if it takes a few years. Shame though and I hope yours passes too! Have you had your + signs today?

not really having a problem listening 2 the music but 4 sure i won't buy another new album, c him live anymore until this all cleared out and he comes out with the reason behind it all. (and not via a song either).
btw the live thang has been in effect 4 a while prior 2 all this anyway.. man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

You know I have Planet Earth on my Xbox 360 hard drive. I was playing the media player on all albums shuffle. Well, Mr. Goodnight came on I just started crying. I don't know why. I've never been so far up Prince's arse that I couldn't disagree with him. I don't consider to be obsessed with him either. I think I'm just hurting because Prince's demands felt like a slap on the face. Follow this up with a song that bluntly insults his fans... I don't know. I'm so frustrated with him. _________________________________________

I wonder if all this has kicked off because of the ammount of fan videos that appeared on youtube after the London gigs. I was there on opening night and went with Prince's request and did not video or take pics yet the majority of the audience were. I felt that having set a reasonable ticket price and given away a free cd he more than had the right to make this demand.
Prince has always had "strange" moments throughout his career and his ecentric behaviour is for me part of his appeal, besides the music is what it is all about in the end. Having said that It is sad that he is attacking the very people that have supported him all these years, like most people on here I have spend a fortune over the years on music and memorabelia and feel intitled to discuss the music with others. Another point I have done many drawings and paintings of Prince will he sue me next? I will always be a fan, his music is part of my soul and always will be I only hope he comes to his senses soon.

I was abit upset for the first few days but got over it pretty quickly. Then, it becomes clear in my mind that it is his music and his professionalism to his music that I like and admired, and for the rest of it why should I care. None of us know him in person anyway, he may be a really nice guy but he may not be, but why should this bother us at all. Give the poor guy some space to breath and don't read too much in to his lyrics and take it personal, it is just another song.
The life of Brian is one of my all time favourite, I strongly recommend this movie or any Monty Pyton's movies to those who are still feeling upset. This will certainly cheer you up. Remember! Look on the bright side of life!!!

The only thing I guess won't "Listen" to is his new stuff, maybe from the past couple of years or so. I still and always will listen to Prince from the 80's. Some people think I'm kinda cute
But that don't compute when it comes 2 Y-O-U.

Y'all trying to make it all deep, it really isn't He's just on some goofy shit right now & it reminds me of other goofy things he's done, like trying to erase his past when that stuff is the very thing that drew me to his music (& kept me here) in the first place. So I'm just a little turned off right now. I'm sure if his latest effort was a better album I'd be a little more forgiving but to put out weak material AND gun for your fans simultaneously?? It's just dumb... & arrogant... & I've had my fill for the moment...

I felt this way when my Photobucket pictures were deleted, if it doesn't go away withing a week or two, I would leave Prince alone completely, what's the use. Fortunetly my feelings resurfaced. You can't like Prince and not be able to bounce back. It's not him it's YOU. [Edited 11/16/07 4:29am]
