So...in conclusion I'd say that Prince is deserving of respect when it is due, and he's not deserving of respect all the time. No human is, really.  There are many "souls" who deserve RESPECT ALL THE TIME.Because those kind of "souls" are always thinking in a Loving manner and thinking right and doing the right thing to the best of their situation. i am always thinking Lovingly, but i can be short tempered sometimes, because someone was rude or hurtful to me, or have unreasonable or selfish expectations, or maybe one of my children ask the same question for he 5th time. i still deserve REPSECT because eventhough i am thinking Lovingly and right, several other outside conditions are occuring and not my fault, thus causing me to be upset and i am right in reacting in an upset manner at that time, because those outside conditions are wrong in being or occuring in that said condition at that time and the Karma there is such that i can rightfully be upset and react accordingly. i still eserve RESPECT. i can also say to my children , sorry i was short tempered, but such and such was going on at the same time and u interrupted and boom! i don' like to be short tempered but i was and am still a LOVING person at the same time. i could go on but i'd be here for days. Not that i disagree with what you just said, but unless you KNOW PRINCE PERSONALLY, how do you know he's ANY of the things you just described? Aren't you ASSUMING he is? Like I said, generally all people deserve respect [Or they should be entitled to it, to state my ideas more clearly]. BUT what about someone who has murdered someone? What about someone who has treated someone else disrespectfully? What if someone spreads lies about someone, tarnishes their name? What if someone treats you unfairly because of your class, race, gender, religion, etc? The truth is, NO ONE is deserving of respect all the time (referring to humans, here, God IMHO is always deserving of respect). That's just my take on the matter. You do not have to agree. But if you are talking about someone else and their Art or Work, then you have the Responsibilty to treat that someone with Respect and Kindness,and that means not insulting someone or somones elses Art or Work, and not using someone elses Art or Work for your own selfish purposes. prince deserves respect.
prince's fans deserve respect. within the fan community, we deserve to respect those with differing opinions. the next door neighbors deserve respect. your mom deserves respect. nobody owns a monopoly on deserving respect. this thread is just fueling more polarized pissing matches, so it's time for the lock.  | |
