Is Camille singing "PFUnk"? Is this Camille singing PFUnk? Personally I think it is. "So strange that no one stayed at the end of the Parade..." - Wendy & Lisa's "Song About" on their 1987 self-titled album.

It's Prince, right? And Camille is a name he used back in the eighties. Was 3121 sung by Camille? It is obviously the 'Camille' effect, but it's not like the person exists.

No.
Camille tracks are defined by the official credit to Camille. If a song uses altered vocals (Partyman, Sex, Dream Factory) but isn't acredited to Camille, it's just a Prince track. Unless Prince says otherwise, it's not a Camille track. And even if he said it was, I would, personally, only consider it quasi-Camille, since, for me, the time and place was as much of Camille as any use of sped-up/slowed down vocals. I will say though, PFUnk has more of a Camille "attitude" than any other of the more recent tracks that use a similar vocal technique (3121, Eye Like Funky Music, etc).

I love the way people overthink this shit... We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

I had my husband listen to the song for an objective point of view. Of course, him not beng much of a fan, thought it was juvenile, and all of the insults were an obvious result of Prince being hurt by what he's read about himself (total given).
He also asked me what the hell was wrong with his voice. I tried to explain the whole Camille thing and its significance to him and he looked at me like this:

It's not a contradiction. Camille tracks are called Camille tracks not because of sped-up vocals, but because they have been acredited to the name Camille. If Prince released 'PFUnk' and it was acredited to Camille, it would be a Camille track - but me, personally, I would in my mind, not consider it so because it isn't from the original time-frame of Camille.
