It's just a reflection of homophobia in our society. If homosexuality wasn't still regarded so negatively, people wouldn't respond so voraciously when people debate Prince's sexual orientation.
It's all a societal problem. We've learned to be more polite about our intolerance without really addressing the irrationality behind it. Prince wants people to be confused about him. Why else would he do such things as lie in countless interviews and purposely act so effeminate? When I see threads questioning his race or sexuality, it just amazes me how successful Prince has been at confusing people. He wanted to be an enigma, and all these years later, he's still mysterious to his fans. [Edited 10/19/07 7:44am] The world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.
