My Favorite scene, but have to look very closely. Right before The Time breaks into "Release It," look at Jesse's face. He is trying so hard NOT TO LAUGH! [Edited 10/30/07 9:32am]

I loved seeing him play around with ummm....*cough*that girl*cough* when they were running all over the place even though I would just prefer him to chase me around like that! Hated that dude that was nagging Prince to let him rap! surviving on the thought of loving you, it's just like the water

What I hate about the film is that he took himself way too seriously. The brooding, and sulking was pitiful to the set, and Prince loading his gun was being comical. 3121 #1 THIS YEAR

I hate that I spent five dollas to see that piece of crap when I was unemployed...and had to live on ramen noodles and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for a week cuz I didn't have any money. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Agreed! I also can't stand the scene when Ingrid Chavez wakes up in his bed and he plays hangman with her...makes me shudder! I hate how cheap the film set is too, but I guess after UTCM's lavish sets its a bit unfair to compare the two! But I love all the scenes with Morris/ Jerome/ The Time in them, especially "Posin' by the Porsche" and "Now what time is it??" Sounds like a real man to me...mind if I turn on the radio?

Love: Most of the music, Prince's look, the sets.
Hate: How tacky and incoherent it is on every other level. I've seen the future, and boy it's rough...

Love Prince with the long hair
Morris & co And in large part the music scenes But I hated Ingrid's lack of interesting dialogue - tired of her saying 'it's just around the corner' all the damn time [Edited 10/30/07 18:15pm]

I love the fact that Prince was so sensitive and just wanted to get along with Morris and his band but they wanted everything and in the end love won the battle. and I loved that Prince was so fine!

I love the whole movie and didn't hate a single thing. I loved his long hair and I don't like long hair on guys. I loved how sensitive Prince came across and the end scene where he was singing and crying, just so beautiful. I loved where he was on the bed with Aura with his little note pad.And of course that amazing smile of his. I loved watching Morris in it as he is so funny and quite attractive as well. I had a major crush on Prince after watching that movie. Prince is magic

I abhor its self-importance, the way Prince tries to express something spiritual with so much vagueness that it almost condescends. I can't stand the way every reaction shot is telegraphed so obviously and forcefully (Morris does something bad,cut to close-up of Ingrid shaking her head...Prince says a joke, cut to audience cheering him on...something sad happens, cut to Prince pouting).
On a technical level, the studio bound shots of the bridge itself look like it was shot in someone's basement...the cheap movie sets...the musical selections with George Clinton being given short shrift and the absence of "Can't Stop"...the editing where a joke was made at Prince's expense, but then turned around against Morris (see the trailer where Morris's line, "Guess who the queen is" is eliminated from the final cut)...the whole hot pepper scene was so unfunny that the joke just dies slowly and painfully on scene...only to be topped by the peeing scene which was just plain idiotic...the fact that Prince made it a sequel to PURPLE RAIN, but didn't repect the original (which wasn't necessarily a perfect movie, but at least it had energy, excitement and respectable drama)...the fact that Prince though so highly of the material that he offered a lead role to Madonna who rightfully pronounced it as "shit." I could go on...
