I think two different definitions of 'pop' are mixed up in this discussion.

1. 'Pop' in a broad sense: commercial music like Britney, New Kids on the Block, Backstreet Boys etc, created to score with.

2. 'Pop' as a musical style: founded by the Beatles, and recognisable in Prince songs as When you were mine, Little Red Corvette, Raspberry Beret, and more recently, All the midnights in the world and Resolution.

wink It's Prince music people! We either love it or not! To me he's always been an acquired taste, and to truly enjoy him it helps to have a broad open mind and love his tendencies for flipping from one end of the musical spectrum to the other. He's like a wild roller coaster...or a softly flitting butterfly! biggrin

I personally have enjoyed the mixed bag of musical styles on his CD's...I love the differences! wink
He gets it! That's why the ladies love him...batting eyes

Are you one of the voices in his head? I'm not sure you let him do anything.
