Prince autograph?

I was at a mall and saw a store where they sold autographed pictures of various actors/singers and the like. They also had autographed movie/show scripts.

Of course I immediately asked for anything on Prince. I was shown a small picture of Prince holding a guitar and it was SIGNED "Prince" with the peace symbol. I was assured that it was real and that an authenticity certificate would be provided along with the picture for $40(Canadian + all applicable taxes).

I was also told that the picture was taken around 1993 or so. Didn't Prince stop signing autographs before then? What do you all think... is it real?

I am sure he stopped autographs by then. 1993 is close to the name change so you have to wonder if he would sign "Prince" even if he did sign an autograph

The word "Prince" wasn't clearly written. The letter "P" was clearly visible and ther rest was a sort of a wavy line.

Yeah, I do wonder... but he did said that it was his only autographed Prince picture in stock...

If the store lied it's customers could sue the store 4 selling something they knew was fake and a fraud.
Some1 most likey needed $ and sold the signed photo.

Prince was still signing autographs and did do some autograph sessions. It could be legit. What I question is why is it so inexpensive . Also when Prince changed his name to Symbol he would only sign with the Symbol and not as Prince anymore. So when was it he supposedly autographed this?

Uptown Issue 8.

Prince was signing autographs at Turtles in Chicago.

& signed it with the symbol.

I have seen these P's with the squiggle line after it.

Complete fake.

P signed autographs in 1993. He made an autograph session at the Fnac in Paris, September 1993.
He signed my Act 2 programme with the symbol, with a gold pen.
That's what I can tell.

Unfortunately I don't have this CD. Back in the days when this album came out it was either Cassette or Vynil and his signature isn't on my cassette copy. I'm only now starting to transfer my collection into CDs so I"m not sure what the signature looks likes.

I have his signature on the Purple Rain tour book and it is nothing like the one I saw at the store.

Apparently this photo is from 1993 although nowhere does it say so on the picture. It is a regular size small photo and it would probably cost around $46 with taxes.

I thought it might be a fake too that's why I wanted to put the question out here. However, it appears that none of us can agree here either. Prince has changed his signature several times so it seems impossible to know it in fact it is real.

Michelle Records, a record store in Hamburg, used to
have this BIG Lovesexy poster with a Prince autograph on
it...don´t know if they still have it on the wall in the back.

Funny you say that, I might own that poster! I got it as a gift a few years ago, is indeed huge ( If the Prince on that poster stood up he'd be 6 feet tall) and the person who gave it to me said he got it from a record store in Hamburg. Its signed, but I was never sure if it was an original.

I wonder if U own an autograph because of the value in dollars or just because it´s his.

IMO 2 me an P-autograph would mean more 2 me if he had signed it 4 me.
