Hello fellow Prince fans. I'm very new at this. I have a very old video called Beautiful Strange a Night Dedicated to Prince which was aired on channel 4, years ago. It shows an interview with Prince and Mel B (why they chose her I'll never know!), a secret gig recorded in London, the concert Sign O the Times and a catalogue of some of his videos. It's now so old and been played so much I might as well watch it with cotton wool in my ears! Is there anyone who can please help me with getting a newer, better copy. I'd really like it on DVD. I have tried all the usual places, Amazon etc and even e mailed channel 4 who told me they don't produce one off copies. If you remember this and enjoyed it yourself, maybe the more people that ask for it might encourage them to release it for general sale. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This was an official release only through NPG 1 800 New Funk. I have never seen it for sale in any store.

As far as the Sign O The Times and Video Catalouge that you seem to have, I don't know???


Sometimes you can find it on EBay but it's rare.

I bought it on eBay, not realizing that it was in PAL format -- so I can't watch it on my VCR in the States.

I'll get it converted at some point...but it isn't high on my list of priorities.

I've seen it lately it's really great, but it was one of the videos he had removed from a site recently, so good luck finding it again!

i still have my video that i taped it from that night...It was great i was full of speed and managed to get my friends to watch it...I still to this day dont realise why he let that fucking scary spice interview him though...so silly.

There is no legal way of getting what you're asking for, as this is something
you taped off the TV yourself, not something that was officially released.

"Beautiful Strange" was ONLY officially released on VHS. It consists of just
the Mel B interview (a bit longer than what was shown on TV) and the secret
gig.

You can buy the Sign O' The Times concert movie on DVD officially now, and
there's also an official DVD of some of his videos ("The Hits"), though it
doesn't have that many vids on it to be honest.

"Beautiful Strange" was only ever officially available on VHS from
1-800-NEW-FUNK via mail order or from the NPG Stores. Of course
all these outlets are now defunct, so there's no way of getting a new
copy anymore. You'll have to try and get it second hand, somehwere
like Ebay.
