Which of these albums would you say is all-around the most disliked/hated among the people here?

Mind u, so far I've come to love all of the albums that I own.
I own 2 of these myself. I've heard one of them and love it.
Haven't heard the 2nd yet... but this weekend's the time & place I will.

C'mon guys, are there any albums that are supposedly so... not good that... well,...

Let me put it like this.

Are there any albums that I shouldn't be looking for to own in my collection if I don't already have them (if so, my bad, I gotta live with it, haha).

A lot of peeps don't like 3121 or Planet Earth.

Karmasutra and Musicology are the only two I can't listen to without hitting the skip button many, many, many times.

NEWS is ok, Kamasutra sucks.
NPS has its moments, Chaos & Disorder is crap.
Musicology is suprisingly good, 3121 is mediocre and Planet Earth sucks balls.
The Rainbow Children is a good album, if you can get past the JW lyrics.

People here still seem undecided about Purple Rain... They've heard it's popular, but some have heard it just blows!

On a serious note... NPS, I would think, by quite a long way.

goes to show you how bad chaos and disorder is, people hardly ever talk about it as either good or bad. I didn't like it much, maybe his only bad album.

Instrumental work aside, The Rainbow Children put me off new Prince music for a looong time.

I kinda like Chaos & Disorder though, and Newpower Soul has some great moments.

in defense of new power soul,"wasted kisses" would be the saving grace of any album,take out the shitty "crowd chant songs"and you would have an awesome EP

Oh, come on, there's good and bad about all of them, but the only one that's unlistenable is.. [drumroll]:

KARMASUTRA

That's the only one I popped in, took it out halfway and never tried again.

But I agree with you on NewPower Soul. I just listened to it for the first time yesterday (and you guys wonder why I didn't tell you I had this one, heh).
The crowd chants are ANNOYING... "Freaks on this side" actually had some good lyrics, but the crowd chants ruined it for me and now I'm considering not listening 2 it anymore.

I'll let u guys know how it goes... but it was the first album I listened thru that I felt like I wished I was either somewhere else or that I could listen to some, I dunno... GOOD music from Prince.

If he hadn't put it all the way at the end of the album, he could have gotten a little more sympathy for a not-so-good album. I hate dealing with a bunch of silent short tracks just to get to one last one What was he thinking?

As you know, each album has it's defenders, and personally I think there's something of value to be gained in listening to all of them. Even if you don't like them, you'll at least know why. As a collector, the wheel's already in motion and there are only a few more that I want for my collection. If any more are to come in the future, it'll be because I find them w/o really trying. I found NewPower Soul @ FYE without looking for it or considering it, now I got it. But I'll see whether or not it was worth the money. Still has a few good songs on it, but the majority, not so much.

NewPower Soul and Shoo-bed-oh are okay. But the others, I'm still so-so on.
Today I'll decide for sure if I like them enough to keep them.
