Response to Bootlegging/NPGMC Firstly, what type of bootlegging are we talking about?
a) Live concert recordings b) Unreleased studio recordigs c) NPGMC downloads d) All of the above When it comes down to it, you have to ask who is getting this source recording? Are the concert recordings coming from the sound-desk and the studio recordings from an employee of Paisley Park. If this is the case, then the problem is internal and Prince and his organisation need to find the perpatrators and deal with them. As for NPGMC releases, I can honestly say that they have not put out enough downloads since I joined ages ago to even make up one album! Or, is someone managing to sneak in recording equipment, which I find hard to believe with the amount of goons hanging around at the concerts and the paranoia displayed by Prince and his entourage? Personally I have not bought any bootlegs for many years, not because I think it immoral but because the quality or content is often poor. I realise that I am buying what is an artists work who wishes to keep it from the public domain but he is not being ripped off. He stands to make no financial loss if someone buys some 20year old studio outtakes that he plans never to release himself. I would therefore like to suggest that he consider spending the next three years compiling a thorough vault archive collection to satisfy the needs of his fans whilst also stepping up his own internal security so live recordings and new material cannot find it's way to external sources. I would be happy to sit through the endless recordings stored away in order to collate such a project, for a nominal fee, of course!

I'd prefer him 2 spend the time recording new material and touring, rather than sitting on his fat ass listening to old songs 4 3 years. Sahmon Muthafucka!!
