How old were you when you became a Prince fan?

biggrin Hi all, i have been a fan of Prince for a while now, as im sure many of you have! I was 11 yrs old when i was really getting into his music and as i've got older (now 26) have appreciated so much more than i would have at that age. Since seeing him in concert i think i have become an even bigger fan haha. How old where you when you started as a fan? biggrin

I was 8 years old and I did not understand a word of English at that time.
It was and still is all about the music.
I found him very daring, confident, talented, sexy and he remains the same, he is a beautiful example of an accomplished and mature artist.
I had to the chance to witness his magic in LV and in London this year.

It's hardly even fair 4 me 2 answer this question, but I can't resist.

I was 20 years, 6 months and 7 days old when I first took the leap into this world.
I am now 21 years, 2 months and 2 days old. giggle

But yeah, a lot has changed in such a short time.
And nearly 8 months later, and I'm still enjoying the ride. thumbs up!

I joined the bandwagon probably about 20 years ago. I watched PR on Channel 4 at the time and that got me interested. I then started buying the back catalogue in my local shopping area (Hounslow) and then further a field into London.

I've been collecting ever since and attending concerts whenever I could. It's been such a great rollercoster of a ride. Even buying music by artists associated with Prince which I would never had done before. So my music collection is kinda vast and the genre I got varies a hell of a lot.
Today was Tomorrow and Yesterday was Today...so what time is it now ??

I think I was 15/16. It was the single release of Gold that got me hooked. I remembered quite liking Thieves in the temple a few years earlier,as well as Cream and Sexy MF, so I bought the Gold Experience and I've been expanding my collection ever since. I am now 29 and I still love the guitar solo at the end of Gold.

Let's just say it was more than 25 years ago -- and let it go at that.

i was 18,19- i am surprised by some of the other ages mentioned . Mainly - because i have often thought that DUE TO MY AGE ... i was impressionable and ... i wondered if I would have been a fan if i was older/younger, etc... confused

I've always been a fan thanks 2 my brother wink. He's quite a few years older than me and he also loves Prince; so, since I was a little child Prince's music has always been around... fortunately
