List the songs that you can't help but feel for Prince after listening to them.

Somehow, "Live 4 Love" is kind of like that for me... just listened to it and the guitar in it is amazing, but slightly jarring. Can't quite explain how.

But

The Dance and Solo are 2 main ones for me.

Any thoughts?

Wherever U Go, I've heard only once and I picked that up in an instant. Mayte-break-up song if I'm not mistaken... just got to me cuz that marked the end of a very happy time in his life. I don't think I'd seen him happier than in the interviews during that time (mid 90's)... or so I thought until I heard Planet Earth.

Purple Rain - sure, it's his signature hit but that doesn't take away from the song for me. It's still as amazing as the first time I heard it, around this time last year.

Sometimes It Snows In April - actually sounds like he's about to cry in parts.

Another Lonely Christmas - the sadness doesn't jump out as much in this but to me, if you listen closely you can hear it.

"Heart-wrenching" as in "sad" right?

I'd like to give honorable mention to, "Crucial."

It makes me sad to listen to the Emancipation album. That album was to mark the happiest time of his life. It was supposed to celebrate freedom from WB, life, love, marriage, and fatherhood.
And when he is getting ready to promote the album, tragedy strikes. His son is born gravely ill and then dies within a week. Especially the song Sex in the summer with his son's heartbeat gets me to this day very emotional.
Being a mother myself, I don't know, where he and Mayte found the strength to make it through this. It must have been incredibly painful for him to go through with the promotion of that album and be in the public eye throughout the whole ordeal.

Nothing Compares to You-I just love him singing this its quite emotional, and it has Rosie Gaines giving it some too!!

Let's Have a Baby. I can't play that song anymore; haven't, in fact, for probably 10 years.

It even made my wife cry and she's not much of a Prince fan. But she knew the story.

Shh kinda does it to me sometimes.

I mean I love the song to death and few bring me "closer" to him.
It's been a very long time since I've heard it and felt that close bond I have with him when I listen to his music.
Just one of those things I used to come to his music for. To feel for a moment that I wasn't alone.

But back on topic, it's a little heart-wrenching towards the end with his guitar solo. Beautiful as it is, I hate for the song to end, especially when it feels so right.

For some unknown reason WHITE MANSION seems so sad to me. When he says "gonna be happy don't you know", I know he's got the mansion but is he really happy?
