I like 'em both, but I like the falsetto a little bit more. Just something about the way he hits those high notes makes me melt. I love For You because it's full of it! My Love is Forever is one of my favorite, favorite songs.

Philip Bailey from Earth, Wind, and Fire had a great one also. And don't forget the guy with the falsetto from The Stylistics. Prince's falsetto had a certain sassiness about it that set him apart from the rest. Even when he was played on the radio following another guy with a falsetto, you knew it was Prince when you heard the voice. Hell yeah, Philip Bailey!! How could I forget? Stylistics, yeah! How about the The Delfonics? "Didn't I Blow You're Mind", "La La Means I Love You". I love The Delfonics. And don't forget about Blue Magic, The Dramatics, Special Delivery, Norman Conners, The Bee Gees, Average White Band (A Love Of Your Own), and Enchantment. . . Lower is
but I especially like when he speaks or when he sings a song in falsetto and you can hear the background in his regular or lower register Or if he speaks in the middle of the song It's fabulous. HE'S COMING AGAIN

His Falsetto on Adore is the most beautiful with him singing background in his lower register. Then alternating here and there the way he did was just amazing to me. Then the screaming, the growling, and the dreamy angelic ending... I could put this song on repeat for a week and not get tired of it

vainandy said: To me, Prince's regular voice just sounds average and amateurish. Falsetto is where he excels. Think so? I love his voice in both ranges but I'm constantly surprised when I see people on this board say they really hate his falsetto, many people say very derogatory things about it. His full voice is quite versatile from crooning to heavy metal like screaming, I think his falsetto may get in the way of his voice range because he doesn't have a great full voice range. I notice as a singer that if I sing falsetto too low, it starts to hurt the upper range of my normal voice so I try to avoid it. Prince seems to sacrifice some of those notes to keep some of his falsetto. Either way, it's a matter of when you catch the man, some days he's superb and some days he is just very competent. I still maintain that his falsetto version in "ONA" dvd of Gotta Broken Heart Again is a performance up there with any by anyone I have ever seen, black or white, male or female.

It depens entirley on the song. I love both...his falsetto amazes me and his regular or deep voice melts me.... He gets it! That's why the ladies love him...

i like both but low really does it "C'mon y'all - let me hear you sing, c'mon y'all, shake, c'mon y'all, jump" - Yes Prince -

Lower register. Songs like "The Love We Make", "There Is Lonely", parts of "Thieves In The Temple", especially the extended version, "7", "And God Created Woman", the live version of "Diamonds And Pearls" from the Diamonds And Pearl tour, and the bridge of "MBGITW". I can go on and on, about the extent and quality of his lower register voice where it goes from low to mock baritone. 3121 #1 THIS YEAR

I love when he pulls a move like in TMBGITW, wherein he uses falsetto for most of the song and throws in a touch of the lower voice near the end. "A Watcher scoffs at gravity!"
