[b]Prince played his last (of many) London show’s on Friday night and he brought along a very special guest for his post-concert gig (that’s how he rolls) at the O2 Arena’s Indigo venue. Amy Winehouse opened the aftershow with Love is A Losing Game while Prince played guitar. His Purple Majesty told the crowd to look after Wino as “you’ve got something special. God I wish I had seen that!!!! Arrrgh!!! tabloids.... Prince told everyone: "Look after her, she's very special".

She is talented, and Prince recognises that! In his own way...by spotlighting her, I wouldn't be surprised if he's trying to encourage her as a performer with a lot of potential to "get herself together!". He gets it! That's why the ladies love him...

Am sure there are plenty of peeps out there (and in here) who can tell you what P sounds and looks like to them. My point is i dont give a damn what crap P and AW pull (so long as it doesnt affect my rights), their talent more than makes up for it. Thank you. That's exactly how I feel. The curtains were still drawn when the band started, so it started off sounding like part of the soundcheck, almost. Then this rich, luxurious groove kept building and building, with these weird little keyboard motifs... it was beautiful. Then the curtains open and Amy Winehouse appears. Incredible moment. At the end of the song, Prince gave her a hug, walked off and put his shades on, saying he was starting to get tears in his eyes. Awwwww. Very, very moving and the most amazing music.... . [Edited 9/23/07 6:25am] Alun!!!!! That is soo great. I'm glad you got to witness that and were able to share with us. It couldn't have happened to a nicer person. If he wants to support crazy near cracked out performers and give some tears Ms. Lauryn Hill has more talent in her pinky...if she ever performed like a sane person these days
then again Prince supporting a female artist usually doesn't mean anything but prolly signals her future path to obscurity knowing his track record I do love Amy's album and voice though but I mean I think it's overhyped...not hating...just saying it's overhyped

Guys Amy has the most beautiful voice ever, and it don't really care what someone looks like when they can sing as good as se can, that nite was the most amazing thing i have ever seen, and I thank Prince and Amy!!! Amazing!!!! Keenmeister

Amy is an amazing talent with great musical instincts (tone, delivery, material). Her first album is also very good. Her voice is even more transcendant live. Unfortuanetly, she has more in common with Billie Holiday than just the voice.

[Edited 9/23/07 6:25am] Sounds like a very special aftershow, if not THE most special aftershow of his entire career ( judging by the length, featured artists and tracklist). I think it´s extremely cool of Prince to give her such an opportunity, and who knows, maybe this will make her rethink some of her choices in life and make her realize her true talent. Something so amazing like this has the potential to trigger something very positive, and people should give props for Prince for looking beyond her tumultuous private life.....sharing the stage with one of your musical heroes might even be better than rehab. Too bad people are so cold and make fun of a person that could cross the line any day. Once she´s gone, it´s gonna be too late and people will regret the shit they said. I really wish for her to get herself together and become healthy again...and maybe get rid of that loser husband she has. " I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"

I was suggesting that perhapse the reason for the spotlight is more for her benefit then the audience. Prince is no doubt very much aware of her self destructive nature and incredible talent, and by putting her on stage in front of HIS fans she WILL feel the love and feel encouraged...and if this really is the case then it's a compliment to his fans as he trusted them to make her feel welcome. It would be a shame for a great talent to go to waste! He gets it! That's why the ladies love him...

Hmm. Prince and Amy - PR stunt for UK...
Which FEMALE brit has been in the papers (especially London papers) as in recent times? Which FEMALE brit Jazz background and just happen to have a musical family? which FEMALE brit is a high-profile crack-ho? Which FEMALE brit will probably be gone in the next 18 months (shit she took 4 years after a great debut to get the high yet awful profile she has).... PRince knows what he's doing and I can bet that she probably didn't say more than 5 words to Prince before and after the show! She had talent, she is acutally not a bad guitarist, but she is on a disturbing decline and she needs 2 pull something out her ass (or veins) quick. as for PRince, he loves performing with women and in British talent I somehow can't see Craig David on stage with him (maybe yours truly though ). I just WISH prince sang "FACE DOWN" - subtitle: The Winehouse Prophecy - "Decline of the spoilt Jew"*. 'dre * = Not intended to be a defamation of Jews in the generic tense!
