Your top 10 of (almost) acoustic Prince songs?

Heres mine:

1. Sometimes it snows in april: a classic, almost a hommage to acoustic 'Joni'.
2. Why come you dont call me anymore: another 'evergreen'
3. Power Fantastic: a fantastic song indeed wink
4. I love you, but i dont trust you anymore: great track on an otherwise poor CD
5. Welcome to the dawn: i know, lots of sound-effects also, but a nice little gem nonetheless
6. Comeback: very subtle for a Prince song (sincere lyrics also)
7. The Cross: i know, just halve of the song is acoustic, but i love that part, especially his vocal delivery
8. U'r gonna C me: fragile, understated, beautifull
9. The truth: great vocals, especially his repeated yells near the end
10.All the midnights in the world: proof he can still write little pop-gems

finally i can reply,

my favourite almost accostic song is the cross, the lyrics and the change into accoustic to rock is what makes it one of my favorites, would adore come under this section?

Adore?

Maybe. I mean, the drums sounds a little 'mechanic': is it a drummachine? or are it distorded 'real drums'?

By the way, i love the Cross so much, because his singing voice sounds like its his real register. Prince often has the tendencies to sing in a 'made up' voice. That is one of his strengths, i think, but "The Cross" shows he can sound great by just 'being himself'.

Unfortunately he doesnt sing like that more often. I mean, The Morning Papers is another clear example, but i wish he would do that more often.

I think youre referring to 'all the midnights in the world'.

The melody line does indeed sound a bit like that of The Morning Papers (at least, in the verses)

yeah, it does...I noticed that myself.

Somehow, "Mr. Goodnight" reminds me of "Space"... but that's not acoustic at all.

I don't know too many of his acoustic songs.

But that version of Space is awesome! cool
had 2 run away... pride was 2 strong. It started raining, baby, the birds were gone
