Yet Another Prince Talent: Ventroloquism

Just curious if Prince was acting for real in Purple Rain with that monkey of his in the dressing room (not that monkey, the monkey that comes out of the cone) and says Life's a Bitch". Prince was not moving his lips at all , yet the monkey talked. Pure ventroliquism (sorry about the spelling) or one of the special movie tricks. Please weigh in

uhhhh.... that was a movie trick.

But I honestly thought that he did make the monkey talk w/o moving his lips.

But according 2 the 20th anniversery DVD interviews, he did the voice 4 the monkey and they added that in later.

heh, I love that scene. One of my favorites. wink
had 2 run away... pride was 2 strong. It started raining, baby, the birds were gone

Oh wait... it wasn't an interview.

It was the commentary from the 3 producers. They mentioned that during that particular scene in the movie.
