Have it on loop in my car at the moment while I enjoy all the craziness of having him over here at the O2!

I'd say its nice to listen to where as I find 3121 great to listen to, say give PE 6/10 and 3121 8/10

For the most part yes. But I did to it as I do to all albums after the first week or so... all the tracks I like most go into a mass random playlist of music. In this case that's Chelsea Rodgers, Mr. Goodnight, Future Baby Mama and Someplace Here on Earth.

Occasionaly I'll listen to the album on its own.

I just got Planet Earth yesterday and after the initial shock of the opening song, I noticed how youngish Prince's voice sounds. His slow jams come off like personal ads looking for love. 'The One U Wanna C' is Prince announcing he's available, 'Future Baby Mama' and 'Chelsea Rodgers' read like a list of what he's looking for in a woman, and 'Mr. Goodnight' is Prince showing off his credentials, describing his modus operandi.

On one hand, it's kind of embarrassing, but on the other it's perfectly understandable. I mean, hey, if I had a platform like mass produced music to advertise my availability, I'd do the same thing.

Except if I were to air my personal want ad in music form, I wouldn't start off with a piano part that sounds like horror movie music, or claim my guitar is more important to me, and I'd bottle the naive politics. Prince's political message amounts to: Don't Litter and War Is Wrong. Not exactly the kind of thing that brings audiences to their feet.

So Planet Earth, the album, I'm not feeling it. I think 'Guitar' is the most direct, honest song here. And 'The One U Wanna C' has a fun country banjo rock thing going on. Other than that it's middling stuff, a half-hearted addition to Prince's body of work.

Still listening to it mixed in with 3121 & Musicology.
I took all 3 cds & combined them to make 2 cds. Didn't delete any songs.
PE got split in half with 5 songs going each of the other two cds.
I have Musicology Special Edition & 3121 Special Edition. Each lasts over an hour.
I'm very happy with this era - whatever you want to call it

I'm feeling it but 3121 is still getting more spins because it's far more consistent than PE is... I play the title track, Somewhere Here On Earth, Future Baby Mama, and Mr. Goodnight everyday.

Had a bit of a trek to drive home this afternoon and listened to Planet Earth, 3121 and Musicology in that order. That also happens to be the order I'd rate them in with 3121 not too far behind PE and a bigger gap from 3121 to Musicology.

Still really loving PE, the only track I ever skip is Chelsea Rodgers but it usually gets played through.
RIP sad
