Are you guys still feeling Planet Earth

Where are the PE discussions? Are you guys still feeling the album or is it now on the back burner. Does PE constitute an era, or is it part of the 3121 era?

along with Musicology & 3121, PE consists of Prince's Comeback Trilogy...

finally he has come back to the mainstream again...

but my fav album among them is still 3121..

i love "All the midnites in the world" and "lion of judah" though...

Yeah I'm still feeling it. In fact, I played it yesterday.
I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

of course I am...

but I've only listened 2 it three times since I got it.
And it was getting better with each listen.
But I was just long overdue for my return 2 prince's era.

As far as I'm concerned, in the era of Musicology-3121-Planet Earth (or as I call him "Prince @ present), Planet Earth was the best!

Maybe I haven't played it much more cuz I'm afraid that I'll wear it out and I'll like it less.

Mr. Good-night was my hands-down favorite.

Check out my thoughts on it here

Until today I hadn't listened to it in about three weeks. I got bored after two tracks and took it out. It's done. 3121, on the other hand, got regular play for over a year.

I listened to Planet Earth once thru when I put in my iTunes library and I played a couple of the tracks for my girlfriend, maybe 3-4 tracks.
Other than that, PE hasn't gotten any play.

I listened to it a lot during the first two weeks. Then, I pulled out my old records and CDs by other artists and even Prince's old stuff like I always do after a new Prince album.

I don't like to listen to just one artist over and over. I like a mixture of artists. In the old days I could feel a Prince album for months because other artists were making great stuff also and I had something to play Prince inbetween. For instance, I love "Chelsae Rodgers" but what the hell new music by another artist would I mix it with? Everyone else is too damn slow and furthermore, I don't own any of their shit because of it. Since Prince is the only artist these days that still makes music that I like, that means listening to him exclusively if I get in the mood for "new" music. That gets boring after a while and I usually go right back to my old music.

Now, if other artists would make great new music also.....

Well, I might as well dream on because that's not going to happen any time soon.

And you know I'm not lying. Even a great funkster like Rick James sold out on his latest album so you know it's an epidemic these days and a damn shame. I'm getting damn tired of playing Prince and Jamiroquai over and over every time I want to hear something new. Rick comes along with his new shitty album and I wanted to snatch his wig off. lol

I really liked it at first, but I hardly ever listen to it now.
