He needs to go back to jewel cases. This Musicology, 3121, and PE packaging is horrible. I'm a CD freak and these get damaged easily. Plus this fool constantly has some of the worst artwork/covers.

Eh, how many times do we have to tell you the same bunch of people that manufacturing those "cheap cardboard sleeves" is 1.5 - 2 times more expensive than manufacturing standard jewelcases? They don't do it in order to be "cheap", it's just a far more attractive format to people who like decent packaging.

N.E.W.S. has the worst packaging out of all of em! And the hologram on PE is cool, but unnecessary. My copy of Musicology has that flap that won't stay closed.

Buy a little bit of velcro, glue it to both sides and you can close/open it.

Ahem, if you buy Musicology nowadays, you'll get a regular jewel case.

Thanks for the tip! I'll do that sooner or later.

I love the cover and photos of 3121, xcept the back cos I can't figure out what the picture is of. All P's albums since TRC have had terrible typography. The N.E.W.S. packaging was cool with the fold out, but the cover wasn't very good imo.

You can always put the CD in your own jewel case if all you're concerned with is damage.

I also love jewel cases (and also the new DVD-sized audio CD cases). I love the artwork, insert, and "feel" of a jewel case.

BUT - I am a million times more concerned about the music than any package art.

What would you rather have? Sign O The Times in a plain brown cardboard sleeve, or Planet Earth in a nice package?

I'd rather have superb music with zero presentation.

I didn't like the case for "Sign O The Times" either. I like for my CDs to be in order where I can find them quickly. That big ass double CD case won't fit in the slot between the "Parade" and "Lovesexy" albums and I have to put it way further down in a slot that holds double CDs. I wish they had those double CD cases back then like "Ultimate Prince" is in. That one fits. lol

I don't really see anything worng with the current packaging on Prince's cds. In fact, I like them. It's cool! And the art is excellent.

It's all good 2 me... cool
